Promote communication among workers

Over the past years, Trade Unions at all levels in Long An province have continuously promoted communication among workers and laborers. The contents and forms of communication have been implemented in a diverse, flexible and creative manner, contributing to raising awareness of the rights, obligations of citizens and sense of responsibility of union members and laborers.

Communication activities for workers are carried out regularly and continuously by the Provincial Federation of Labor.

Diversified forms of propaganda

In 2024, the whole province will have 291,206 union members and workers being propagandized, disseminated, studied, and thoroughly understood the Party's guidelines and resolutions, and the State's policies and laws related to labor and trade unions.

Unions at all levels have promoted propaganda in various forms, suitable for each type of facility. The provincial Labor Federation (LD) alone organized 5 propaganda sessions on reproductive health care policies and regimes for employees at enterprises, with 388 participants; organized propaganda on HIV/AIDS prevention and control at 8 boarding houses in districts with a large number of employees, with 90 participants; launched a campaign for union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to actively respond to the online contest "Learning about the law on labor safety and hygiene" in 2024 organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (with 12,876 entries); participated in the contest to create communication products on drug prevention and control, with 96 entries. The Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (now the Department of Home Affairs) to organize the online contest "Learning about the law on labor safety and hygiene" in 2024 (with 8,007 entries).

In 2024, the Provincial Federation of Labor will coordinate with Long An Radio and Television Station (now Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station ) to produce 12 Labor and Trade Union columns; broadcast live the Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Am Tinh Dong Tinh 2024 art program; coordinate with Long An Newspaper (now Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station) to produce 24 Labor - Trade Union pages in print newspapers and 60 news (according to contract) in electronic newspapers every month; coordinate with Labor and Trade Union Magazine to publish news and articles in print and electronic magazines.

In addition, Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television, Lao Dong Newspaper, Lao Dong and Trade Union Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, etc. regularly publish propaganda news about trade union activities and the movement of workers, civil servants, and laborers in the province.

The Provincial Federation of Labor maintains editing, publishing, and distributing 2,500 Union Newsletters No. 82 Xuan Giap Thin (participating in the Provincial Spring Newspaper Contest); 2,500 Union Newsletters No. 83 Celebrating the Anniversary of the Founding of Vietnam Trade Union on July 28; continues to develop communication products posted on the digital media channels of the Provincial Federation of Labor; coordinates with Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station to implement the May Radio program - Connecting Workers with 5 live radio broadcasts and livestreams on the social networking platforms of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Newspaper and Long An Radio and Television Station, attracting more than 100,000 viewers and interactions. Many outstanding activities

Communication activities contribute to raising awareness of citizens' rights and obligations and the sense of responsibility of union members and workers.

In August 2024, the Standing Committee of the Can Duoc District Labor Federation coordinated with the Policy - Law and Labor Relations Department of the Provincial Labor Federation to organize propaganda and legal advice for union members and employees of Jion Vina Company Limited (My Le Commune, Can Duoc District), with 100 union members and employees attending. Here, consultants propagated and advised on a number of contents of the Labor Code, the Law on Social Insurance, and Accident Insurance; rights and obligations regarding labor safety and hygiene of employees and employers; prohibited acts; measures to prevent and combat dangerous and harmful factors for employees; measures to handle technical incidents causing serious labor safety and hygiene and emergency response. The consultants also answered questions from union members and employees about labor contracts, labor contract contents; the right to unilaterally terminate the labor contract of employees; forms of labor discipline; maternity leave, sick leave;...

The legal propaganda and consultation session contributes to raising awareness and understanding of policies and laws so that union members and employees know how to protect their legitimate and legal rights and interests in labor relations, contributing to building the image of cultured workers, having a healthy lifestyle, not violating social evils and strictly complying with the laws, rules and regulations of enterprises and localities.

In March 2024, Ben Luc District Labor Federation coordinated with Tan Buu Commune People's Committee to organize a propaganda session to provide legal advice on labor and crime prevention, social evils, fire prevention and fighting with representatives of more than 100 workers and landlords attending.

At the propaganda session, Chairman of Ben Luc District Labor Federation - Nguyen Van Thanh propagated the contents of labor contracts, the regimes of laborers when working at companies and establishments that have signed labor contracts so that laborers can better understand the regulations and regimes to limit labor disputes, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises.

At the same time, the Commune Police provide workers with information on methods and tricks of fraud, property appropriation and intentional injury; disseminate knowledge about fire prevention and fighting, and how to quickly handle fires.

Trade unions in enterprises also actively propagate to workers. The grassroots trade union of ChingLuh Vietnam Shoes Co., Ltd. (Ben Luc district) regularly propagates to workers about legal regulations, events, trade union activities, etc. The trade union closely coordinates with the company's communications department to propagate so that workers clearly understand the company's policies, trade union activities, especially the work of caring for the material and spiritual life of workers, etc. Thereby, creating consensus and connection between workers and enterprises.

Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor - Pham Thi Quyen said: "Determining the position, role, meaning and importance of communication work in union activities, especially in the current context, union levels must be flexible, creative, focus resources, closely coordinate with media agencies, and diversify forms of communication to strongly spread information about union activities to union members, workers and the whole society.

In particular, trade unions at all levels promote communication about contents and issues that union members and workers are interested in. Through communication, trade unions bring the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to union members, workers and employers"./.
