Speed ​​up the progress of construction investment projects in the health sector

On May 19, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My had a working session with relevant units on the implementation of projects and construction investment works in the health sector in the province. Attending the meeting were representatives of the Department of Health, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board and a number of relevant departments, branches and localities.

At the meeting, representatives of investors reported on the progress of projects such as: Provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital (Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board is the investor); Maintenance and repair of the Provincial General Hospital and Investment in construction, renovation, upgrading and procurement of equipment for the Provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC), 9 district-level medical centers and 28 commune-level medical stations under the Economic Recovery and Development Program; Investment in construction, renovation and upgrading of infrastructure, provision of equipment for commune medical stations in the province under the Investment Program for developing the grassroots medical network in disadvantaged areas of Phu Yen province, using ADB loans; Investment in a centralized hazardous medical waste treatment system in Tuy Hoa city, wastewater treatment system of the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital and upgrading of wastewater treatment areas for district hospitals: Son Hoa, Dong Xuan, Tay Hoa and Tuy An (Department of Health is the investor).

Accordingly, some projects have completed the construction and installation part, and are bidding for medical equipment and office equipment. However, many items are still behind schedule due to the time it takes to adjust the design, and the implementation area is spread across many localities, causing difficulties in implementation...

At the meeting, representatives of investors proposed many solutions for the smooth implementation of projects, especially bidding packages for the procurement of medical equipment and office equipment. The Department of Health proposed that for public investment projects under construction, they be allowed to continue to be completed according to signed contracts and implemented on schedule.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dao My, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Medical facilities are key projects, having practical significance in taking care of people's health, especially in remote areas. Therefore, investors and contractors need to focus maximum resources, urgently remove difficulties, speed up construction progress, ensure project quality in accordance with technical standards as well as capital disbursement progress.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My also requested the units to identify and re-evaluate the current medical stations so that after the import, they need to purchase equipment, ensuring that it is suitable for the new medical center. Relevant departments, branches and localities need to strengthen coordination, promptly guide and support investors in payment procedures; ensure the necessary conditions for the projects to be completed on schedule and put into use soon to serve the people.
