Focus on removing obstacles and ensuring progress of traffic projects
Nghe An Provincial People's Committee recently held a meeting to review the status of document processing and the progress of implementing a number of key programs and projects. At this meeting, many important issues related to site clearance, construction progress, land determination and funding sources were discussed and required to be resolved.
Regarding the project to upgrade National Highway 7, section Km0 - Km36 and handle landslides in Khe Thoi - Nam Can, the localities have handed over 55.389/55.402 km, reaching 99.98%. The remaining part is only 13.7m related to Mr. Ma Van Thanh's household due to a land dispute that has been sued. Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh requested the locality to transfer compensation funds to the account of the commune's land clearance council so as not to delay the construction progress, and continue to coordinate with the court to handle the case according to regulations.

The project to renovate and expand National Highway 46, Vinh - Nam Dan section, has currently handed over 7.1/10.7 km (66.4%), the remaining 3.6 km is mainly residential land and garden land. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pointed out that the progress is being slow due to many subjective factors; requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to guide the communes to re-determine the area, complete the compensation plan, and at the same time completely resolve problems related to water lines, electricity systems and related technical infrastructure.
At the resettlement area of Kim Lien commune, although the construction has been completed, the land has not been handed over to households due to problems with the relocation of electricity, water and cable lines. Nghe An province requested Van An, Kim Lien and Dai Hue communes to review all land procedures and urgently coordinate to correct and relocate electric poles, not to let people complain for a long time. At the same time, the entire site must be handed over to the investor no later than December 30, 2025.
Regarding the project to extend the runway of Vinh International Airport, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with departments, branches and the Ministry of National Defense to clarify the area of 1.49 hectares for compensation and site clearance; at the same time, requested the Department of Finance to prioritize funding for the 600m extension and the Rao Truong River straightening and improvement project.
Urgently select locations to ensure quality of border boarding schools
At the meeting, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also listened to the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Civil and Industrial Works of Nghe An province report on the progress of the Investment Program for Construction of Inter-level Boarding Schools for Border Communes. In 2025, Nghe An province will build 10 schools in Nhon Mai, Na Ngoi, Keng Du, Mon Son, Bac Ly, Tam Thai, Que Phong, Tri Le, Hanh Lam and Anh Son.
Director of the Nghe An Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board Vuong Dinh Nhuan said that the site survey was difficult because border communes lack suitable land funds, while the standard area for each school site is from 5-10 hectares. The Board is compiling data to report to the Department of Construction to advise the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to approve the investment location before November 15, 2025, and at the same time develop a detailed plan to complete the projects before August 30, 2026.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh emphasized: determining the location of the school is a key task, requiring careful survey of the terrain and geology, ensuring convenient transportation, not far from the population and suitable for the scale of student development in the future. The province requires departments and branches to coordinate closely with the commune level, specifically quantify the workload, and at the same time propose specific mechanisms in the process of updating planning and converting land use purposes.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province noted the need to study and develop a model design for synchronous application, saving time and resources; avoiding waste and errors in investment.
In addition to transportation and education projects, the meeting also gave opinions on many large-scale projects such as Cua Lo Deepwater Port, Phuong Hoang General Hospital, Giang Son Golf Course Complex, etc. All were required to ensure progress and quickly resolve problems related to land, planning and legal procedures.
The meeting affirmed Nghe An's determination to promote key projects, focusing on site clearance, technical infrastructure handling and capital disbursement, to ensure progress, upgrade infrastructure, and promote local socio-economic development.
