Revoke the principal's decision

The extraordinary meeting of the 10th Party Executive Committee of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine on May 9, chaired by Mr. Nguyen Trong Hao, Party Secretary, discussed contents related to the establishment of a basic professor council in 2025.

The school's Party Committee has issued a resolution to revoke Decision No. 1576 dated May 7 of the principal on establishing an inspection team for the activities of the scientific and training council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine related to the proposal to establish a basic professor council in 2025.

At the same time, assign the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and the Principal to urgently establish a basic professor council in 2025 and report to the Party Committee before May 14.

The principal arbitrarily issued two urgent documents that were not in accordance with regulations, and requested a review.

Also on May 9, the 10th Party Executive Committee of the school announced issues related to the establishment of the basic professor council in 2025.

After reviewing the report of the Party Committee of the school on the urgent dispatches sent by Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine on the establishment of the basic professor council in 2025, and the decision 1576 dated May 7 of the principal, the Party Executive Committee of the school concluded:

The issues that arose regarding the establishment of the university's faculty council in 2025 were sudden, important and sensitive. The principal did not discuss and approve the opinions of the Party Committee or the Board of Directors but arbitrarily issued two urgent dispatches to the Government Office , the Ministry of Education and Training, and the State Council of Professors, which was not in accordance with the resolutions and working regulations of the Party Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the University's Party Committee.

The principal sent contents such as urgent dispatch No. 1278 dated May 5, scanned copies of the votes of confidence of members of the faculty council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in 2025, and the minutes of the vote counting at the meeting of the school's science and training council on April 23 to the school's Zalo groups/groups (the school's Party Committee group, the school's Council, the management staff meeting, the professional meeting, the university admissions council...) which are not in accordance with the regulations on information, reporting and confidentiality.

The Rector issued Decision No. 1576 on the establishment of an Inspection Team for the activities of the Science and Training Council related to the proposal to establish the 2025 Faculty Council and approved the plan related to Decision No. 1576, which is not in accordance with the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training. The above incidents have directly affected the reputation of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine in general, the School's Science and Training Council and the 2025 Faculty Council in particular.

This affects the establishment of the 2025 Basic Professor Council of Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and the progress of the work of considering the titles of professor and associate professor for candidates. The Party Executive Committee requested the President to seriously criticize, review and learn from experience and send a review report to the Party Committee before May 16.

VietNamNet reporters contacted Associate Professor Nguyen Thanh Hiep, the school's principal, to ask more about the decision of the Party Committee and the announcement of the school's Party Executive Committee, but Mr. Hiep said he would have a full report and information about this later.
