To serve the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has just issued a document requesting to increase the frequency of flights currently operating at Dien Bien Airport.
According to the document, on May 7, 2024, Dien Bien province will hold the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory. This is a major national event, with the participation of leaders of the Party, State, ministries, central branches, provinces and cities, international visitors, tourists and people attending a series of events before, during and after the Anniversary. Therefore, the demand for air travel continues to increase, and the current frequency of flights by airlines has not met the travel needs of people and tourists coming to Dien Bien province.
Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee respectfully requests the Ministry of Transport , the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, and airlines operating at Dien Bien Airport to increase the frequency of flights to Dien Bien Airport to meet the requirements of serving delegates and people attending the event. The time to increase the frequency of flights is from May 3 to 9, 2024. For the Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu route, increase the frequency to at least 06 flights/day and vice versa, on all days of the week. Particularly on May 7, 2024, it is requested that Vietnam Airlines Corporation and Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company (Vietjet Air) arrange aircraft to operate early flights from 5 - 6 a.m. to serve the delegations attending the Ceremony, parade, and marching for the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) in Dien Bien province.
For the Dien Bien Phu - Ho Chi Minh City route and vice versa, based on the needs of people and tourists, research to increase the frequency of flights for all days of the week.
Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee hopes to receive attention and support from the Ministry of Transport, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and airlines so that the locality can successfully organize the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Dien Bien Airport is currently being operated by Vietnam Airlines Corporation and Vietjet Air Joint Stock Company with 02 flights from Dien Bien - Hanoi and Dien Bien - Ho Chi Minh City. The flights have created favorable conditions for people to travel, visit, and travel, improving air transport capacity; connecting Dien Bien with the cultural and political centers of the country, creating conditions for Dien Bien province to attract investment, exploit tourism potential, promote socio-economic development and ensure local defense and security.
