The Hanoi Literature exam is in essay form, consisting of 2 parts: Reading and Writing, with a time limit of 120 minutes. The scoring method is 4 points for the Reading section and 6 points for the Writing section. According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in this year's 10th grade high school entrance exam, the whole city had 115,951 candidates registered to take the exam (including 102,860 candidates taking the non-specialized public exam, 13,091 candidates taking the specialized exam).

At least 64% of students will have a place in grade 10 at public high schools. The remaining students will study at private high schools, vocationaleducation centers, and continuing education centers.

Hanoi's 2025 10th grade entrance exam will take place on June 7-8. This morning, candidates will take the Literature exam for 120 minutes, and the Foreign Language exam in the afternoon for 60 minutes. On the morning of June 8, candidates will take the Math exam for 120 minutes. The admission score is the total score of the three subjects on a 10-point scale, without multiplying the coefficient, plus priority and incentive points (if any).

It is expected that around July 4-6, the Department will simultaneously announce the exam scores and grade 10 benchmark scores. Successful candidates will confirm their enrollment from July 10 to 12.
