The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup will kick off on June 15 in the US, bringing together the 32 strongest teams from six confederations and lasting until July 14.

The biggest difference is that the tournament will follow a format similar to the World Cup: 32 teams divided into eight groups, playing a round-robin. The top two teams from each group will advance to the round of 16, followed by knockout matches leading up to the final. Notably, there will be no third-place match.

The matches will take place at 11pm, 2am, 5am, 8am (Vietnam time), bringing top football nights to the audience, and at the same time being a "practice" time for the 2026 World Cup.

The opening match is scheduled to be between Lionel Messi's Inter Miami and Al Ahly (Egypt) at 7am on June 15 at Miami Gardens. The final will be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the same venue as the 2026 World Cup final.

The tournament has a total prize fund of up to 1 billion USD. Participating teams will receive money depending on the federation and performance. Group stage winners get 2 million USD, draws get 1 million USD.

Winning the group stage will get you $7.5 million, reaching the quarter-finals will get you $13.125 million, the semi-finals will get you $21 million, the final will get you $30 million, and the champion will pocket $40 million. In total, the champion can take home up to $125 million, making this tournament one of the most lucrative football events in history.
