Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that Lam Dong is home to 49 ethnic groups, possessing rich human resources with many unique customs, architecture and festivals. In recent times, identifying cultural identity as the "soul" of the land, the industry has made the work of preserving and promoting cultural values associated with tourism development a key task, focusing on preserving ethnic minority culture, restoring and developing traditional craft villages associated with tourism.

The Department coordinates with localities to collect, preserve, renovate and embellish relics; preserve intangible cultural forms, preserve traditional festivals. At the same time, build and promote traditional cultural models such as gongs, brocade weaving, weaving... to serve tourists . Thereby contributing to preserving and promoting the good traditional cultural values of ethnic minority communities, attracting a large number of tourists to visit, experience, and create livelihoods for local ethnic minorities.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, in the coming period, to promote cultural strength and develop tourism, it is necessary to promote the historical, cultural values and scenic spots of the locality on mass media, fairs and tourism exhibitions at home and abroad. At the same time, encourage people to participate in developing community tourism to preserve and effectively promote the value of historical heritages, traditional cultural identities, and conserve biodiversity at tourist destinations.

To position the community tourism brand

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan to implement the project of Developing Community Tourism in Lam Dong province in a sustainable manner, in accordance with the strategy, planning for tourism development, strategy for developing tourism products, security, national defense and social order. In particular, focusing on promoting the value of natural advantages, resources, nature, historical relics, scenic spots; contributing to preserving and conserving cultural identity, landscape, space and protecting the environment.

Developing community tourism must be associated with promoting progress, social equity, effectively exploiting the potential and unique strengths of localities in the province, ensuring harmonious benefit sharing among participating parties, moving towards forming community tourism craft villages. Community tourism sites must basically meet the requirements of the national TCVN 13259:2020 on community tourism and ASEAN standards for local community tourism activities.

The goal is to develop community tourism in association with new rural construction, improve people's lives; promote the movement of rural economic development, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction. At the same time, support the ability to access resources and public services for rural areas and ethnic minority areas. From there, community tourism becomes one of the main tourism products of Lam Dong province, positioning the Lam Dong community tourism brand on the Vietnam tourism map.

In the period of 2025 - 2027, Lam Dong will preserve and promote traditional cultural values at recognized community tourism sites. Strive for 30% of sites to have effective community houses and traditional art troupes; 40% of facility owners to be trained in tourism management. At the same time, 40% of sites that meet national standards for community tourism will be promoted and introduced, aiming to build a database and digital map of community tourism in the whole province.
