Mekong Delta proactively supplies pork for Tet

In Dong Thap and An Giang provinces, the agricultural sector is synchronously implementing many solutions to control epidemics, control herd restoration and promote concentrated livestock farming models.

According to statistics, Dong Thap currently has about 470,000 pigs, an increase of more than 75,000 since the beginning of October. Many farmers are applying cold barns, automatic feeding systems and biosecurity measures to improve productivity and reduce disease risks.

In An Giang, the total herd is currently about 379,000 heads, expected to reach 420,000 heads by the end of the year, equivalent to 80% of the 2025 plan. Authorities have strengthened border control and prevented illegal transportation of pork to ensure a stable supply.

With this initiative, the pork supply in the Mekong Delta is assessed as stable, contributing to stabilizing live pig prices at the end of the year.
