| The working group of the City People's Committee inspected landslide-prone areas in Nam Dong district (old). |
At the scene, the working group inspected the collapsed Phu Mau bridge abutment (Km20+25, Khe Tre commune), the entire structure under the bridge was swept away by rising floodwaters. Next, the group inspected the Leno bridge area, connecting Khe Tre and Nam Dong communes, which was also eroded by high water, causing the bridge's foot to collapse.
The working group also surveyed several other landslide sites and inspected the cracked hill area in K'Long village, which is at high risk of landslides after many days of heavy rain. The soil and rocks around this area have shown signs of sliding and subsidence, threatening the safety of the residential area below. The main cause is that prolonged heavy rains have weakened the ground, creating cracks and a high risk of landslides.
Directing at the scene, Chairman of the City People's Committee Phan Thien Dinh requested functional forces to urgently review and assess the level of landslides and the risk of impact on residents, and proactively prepare evacuation plans to ensure absolute safety for people in high-risk areas.

“In the face of the complicated situation of floods, especially when the water level of rivers continues to rise and the rains in mountainous areas continue to last, the city has directed to increase food support for remote areas and areas at risk of being isolated. Forces are urgently deploying response measures to ensure the safety of the people,” emphasized Chairman of the City People’s Committee Phan Thien Dinh.
Mr. Phan Thien Dinh also said that in the Nam Dong and Khe Tre areas, there have been some new landslides and another bridge has collapsed. The city has assigned specialized units to assess the overall landslide situation, develop long-term solutions, and coordinate with hydropower plants in the area to regulate water properly, ensuring safety for the downstream area.
