On March 5, the Ministry of Health proposed to the Prime Minister to allow drug retail establishments to prescribe antiviral drugs to treat F0. |

As Thanh Nien reported, to ensure that patients have easy access to antiviral drugs to treat Covid-19 in the context of the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in recent days, while ensuring strict control in accordance with the direction of superiors, the Ministry of Health proposes and recommends to the Prime Minister on the distribution of drugs to treat Covid-19 as follows:
Regarding the free distribution of treatment drugs: localities and medical facilities are assigned to purchase Covid-19 treatment drugs (including Molnupiravir which has been licensed for circulation in Vietnam) according to regulations to promptly meet the treatment needs of the unit.
For self-payment: the applicable subjects are all Covid-19 patients who wish to self-pay.
For establishments that are allowed to retail drugs (pharmacies, drug stores): the authority to prescribe antiviral drugs is the person in charge of pharmaceutical expertise at the pharmacy or drug store who is allowed to prescribe antiviral drugs for Covid-19 patients or buyers.
Agree with the proposal, if you are sick you have to take medicine, stop causing trouble for the people. Don't worry about hoarding goods, if they hoard 1, then produce 2 and see if they can collect it.
News
This is very necessary information, need to be disseminated quickly to everyone to update and share. Thank you Thanh Nien.

I think the regulation that patients have to record a video of themselves doing the antibody test at home and send it to the person in charge of the pharmacy or drugstore to prove the positive test result is not suitable for some people. For example, what if the patient or their family member does not have a smartphone? Is there a more flexible way that still ensures safety?
Thing
Regulations on prescribing for Covid-19 patients (F0) are based on confirmation from medical facilities (including testing facilities, medical examination and treatment facilities, and health stations) that are positive for SARS-CoV-2 (including PCR or rapid tests). Patients record a video of themselves performing the antibody test at home and send it to the person in charge of pharmacy expertise at the pharmacy or drugstore to prove the positive test result.
The person in charge of pharmacy expertise at the drug retail facility, based on the test results, determines at least one risk of the patient becoming seriously ill.
The buyer or patient must sign a commitment, which includes information about the patient, test date, test results, and medication use according to the form (attached), along with a copy of the patient's identity card (ID) or citizen identification card (CCCD).
Support the proposal
“I fully support the Ministry of Health's proposal to allow pharmacies to prescribe the antiviral drug Molnupiravir, so that this drug can reach F0 as soon as possible. Remember, this is the time when Covid-19 cases are increasing , the health system is overloaded in some places, and cannot effectively prescribe and sell prescription drugs to patients according to regulations. Moreover, the regulations of the Ministry of Health are quite strict. Hopefully there will be coordination between the health sector, pharmacies and drug buyers so that the drug can reach F0 as quickly as possible, serving the most effective treatment", reader (BD) Nguyen Toi expressed.
Many BDs also agree with this opinion. BD Hoa Trinh said: "That's right, if you don't have Covid-19, who would suddenly buy this medicine to take?". BD Van Man also said: "I think the Ministry of Health should have very specific and complete instructions for pharmacies so that pharmacists can implement it safely. I support this proposal, because saving people is like putting out a fire, there should be no delay!".
Need to do tight, safe
Some BĐs also expressed concerns, such as BĐ NVH said: "Pharmacists should not be allowed to do the duties of doctors", or BĐ Anh Dung Nguyen raised the issue: "Pharmacies are allowed to prescribe for patients, perhaps only in our country?"... Meanwhile, BĐ Hoang Ha expressed confidence: "Doctors are doctors, pharmacists are pharmacists, normally they should not be "played on the wrong field". However, in special cases like the present, everyone knows that if F0 accesses medicine early, the treatment will be very effective, so pharmacists can prescribe. The problem is to "supplement" the "doctor" part of these pharmacists with important instructions from the health sector. I think it can be done".
The British ship driver Nhac added: “Why don’t you give clear, easy-to-understand instructions so that buyers can use it themselves? If you don’t understand, ask the pharmacy for simple advice. In reality, who doesn’t have the disease but uses this medicine, except for traders who hoard the goods? And to avoid traders hoarding the goods, pharmacies must only sell to buyers who present their ID cards, and each ID card must only sell one dose. At the end of the day, the pharmacy will compile a report and send it to the designated agency.”
