This morning, November 19, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (USSH) held a ceremony to celebrate its 80th anniversary and 30th anniversary of its founding. At the ceremony, Associate Professor Hoang Minh Son, Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, proposed that the Government allow USSH to pilot special mechanisms to attract talent.

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Son, over the past 80 years, USH has created its own unique academic identity, becoming the cradle of training elite human resources in the field of social sciences and humanities, a center of humanities knowledge, and a place to nurture the country's great intellectual team.
Mr. Hoang Minh Son also said that in the new development strategy, the vision of Hanoi National University is "to become an elite university following the model of a research and innovation university, reaching world-class standards". Therefore, one of the tasks of USSH is to gather and nurture talents and train elites.
The foundation for sustainable development
In order for USSH to continue to promote its pioneering role, Mr. Hoang Minh Son proposed that the Government pay more attention to investing in the field of social sciences and humanities, considering this a core pillar in the development of modern Vietnamese people.
At the same time, allow Hanoi National University and USSH to pilot special mechanisms and outstanding autonomy, creating conditions for developing a large team of scholars, attracting talent, promoting strategic research and implementing comprehensive autonomy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long also praised the achievements of USSH and recognized the school as "the oldest national educational brand in training human resources for basic sciences in the field of social sciences and humanities".
Recently, the Politburo issued Resolution No. 71 on breakthrough development of education and training, thereby continuing to affirm the view that education and training is the top national policy, identifying high-quality human resources and science and technology talents as the driving force and competitive advantage of the country.
In that context, social sciences and humanities are identified as the foundation for sustainable development, meeting the requirements of national development and national defense in the new period.
"With its position as a leading center of social sciences and humanities in the country, the school needs to continue to take the lead in basic science research and training, contributing to preserving and developing fundamental cultural values, while opening up new approaches in training, research and policy consulting," said Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long.
