According to 9to5Mac , the popular AI (artificial intelligence) application DeepSeek has once again made users concerned about security issues when it was discovered to contain many serious vulnerabilities, which could lead to the theft of personal data.

DeepSeek iOS App Has Multiple Security Vulnerabilities
After the security incident of exposing chat history and secret keys earlier this year, DeepSeek continued to be 'exposed' by security company NowSecure for a series of new security vulnerabilities, even more dangerous than before.
Most notably, DeepSeek disabled Apple’s App Transport Security (ATS) feature, which allows apps to send user data over the internet unencrypted. This means that hackers can easily steal users’ personal information if they gain access to the connection.
Additionally, DeepSeek was found to use the outdated 3DES encryption algorithm, which is known to have many security vulnerabilities.
NowSecure warns that while individual pieces of data may not seem too sensitive, when combined, they can be used to identify users, leading to the risk of being tracked, invading privacy, and even becoming the target of espionage.
NowSecure's conclusion is that the DeepSeek iOS app is currently unsafe to use, and the Android version is even less secure.
Given the security concerns, DeepSeek users should consider continuing to use the app. At the same time, authorities should also step in to investigate and require DeepSeek to thoroughly fix security vulnerabilities, ensuring information security for users.
In general, AI applications that once caused a stir with impressive natural language processing capabilities are gradually losing users' trust due to security-related controversies.
