How many communes in Quang Nam province have met new rural standards so far?

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee concluded the assessment of the implementation of NTM in the province in the past time and assigned tasks to units to further promote the construction of NTM in the province in the coming time.

Accordingly, up to now, in Quang Nam province, 129/193 communes have met the new rural standards, 22 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, 2 communes have met the model new rural standards and the remaining communes are striving to meet the advanced new rural standards in 2023 and are completing their application documents for recognition of meeting the standards.

"In general, the goal of achieving the standards of new rural communes, advanced new rural communes, and model new rural communes in the 2023 plan was ensured. The results achieved were thanks to the focused direction and implementation of all levels and sectors and the participation of the people in building new rural areas; the role of the Provincial New Rural Coordination Office and related departments and sectors in coordinating and guiding localities in implementing the new rural program.

However, there are still some tasks with slow progress and low efficiency, such as slow capital allocation, investment, and disbursement; maintenance and standard upgrading have not been given due attention.

The quality of communes meeting NTM standards is not high; the progress of preparing documents and requesting appraisal for recognition of NTM standards is not according to plan; some departments and branches have not yet reviewed and evaluated the results of meeting the criteria in localities according to the registration roadmap, so when assessing, there are still many criteria that have not met the standards and need to be supplemented many times to ensure compliance with regulations, etc.

It is recommended that relevant departments, branches and localities focus on directing, have specific solutions and roadmaps and thoroughly overcome some of the above limitations to ensure the completion of the goal by the end of 2025 of having 77% of communes meeting NTM standards, 40% of communes meeting advanced NTM standards, 10% of communes meeting model NTM standards and having 8-9 district-level units meeting standards, completing the task of building NTM...", the conclusion stated.

In the coming time, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to resolutely implement the goals for the 2021-2025 period assigned by the Central Government, Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council and Provincial People's Committee.

The roadmap cannot be adjusted after 2025, but only adjusted from 2024 to 2025 or vice versa. The Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office is assigned to advise the Provincial People's Committee to report on the situation and results of the implementation of the New Rural Area Program in the province to date; thereby, advising the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee to submit to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to issue a Directive to lead and direct the implementation of the set goals for the 2021-2025 period.

In addition, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province also assigned the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office to organize work and review unqualified indicators and criteria in localities by commune and village group, at the levels of meeting standards, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas to advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct and assign specific tasks for each content and work to departments, branches, and localities, in order to strive to complete the set goals for the 2021-2025 period.

At the same time, summarize the difficulties and obstacles in implementing the new rural program in the province to advise the Provincial People's Committee to propose the Central Government to make appropriate adjustments and supplements; it is necessary to register to work specifically with the Central New Rural Coordination Office to promptly resolve the obstacles, including indicator 18.1 (Proportion of households using clean water according to standards from the centralized water supply system), criterion 18 (quality of living environment) of the set of criteria for advanced new rural communes in the period 2021-2025.
