Specifically, due to prolonged heavy rain, the Mimosa Pass (parallel to Prenn Pass) leading to Da Lat suffered landslides, damaging the roadbed and surface structure at Km226+500 - Km226+800. Currently, the Department of Construction is coordinating with local authorities and related units to organize the repair of the landslide.
According to the authorities, there is a risk of further landslides at this location, so it is not safe for heavy vehicles to travel. Therefore, to ensure traffic safety on the Mimosa Pass and to serve the landslide repair work, the Department of Construction has coordinated with the Provincial Traffic Police Department to announce the organization of traffic diversion through the above pass from 5:30 p.m. on November 18.
Specifically, trucks with a total weight of 15 tons or more (vehicle weight and cargo) are prohibited from circulating on Mimosa Pass; other vehicles are allowed to circulate in two directions as per the current traffic organization plan.
Regarding the alternative route to Da Lat, trucks with a total load of 15 tons or more can travel along National Highway 27 to Lam Ha, at Cua Rung intersection, turn onto Provincial Road DT.725 towards Nam Ban to go up Ta Nung Pass, leading to Da Lat city center.
Previously, on the morning of November 17, the Prenn Pass (gateway to Da Lat, Lam Dong) suffered a serious landslide near Datanla Bridge (in the middle of Prenn Pass). Immediately after that, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency for the Prenn Pass road, section Km224+600 - Km224+700 (in Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat). At the same time, blockades were set up at both ends (from the foot of Prenn Pass to the Datanla Waterfall intersection) to prohibit all vehicles and divert traffic, regulating vehicles traveling in the direction of Mimosa Pass.
