Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Thieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province said that, along with archaeological discoveries in many other localities, the discoveries of material cultural traces collected and excavated at Vinh Hung archaeological site have contributed to determining the history of the first ancient kingdom of Phu Nam in Southeast Asia with a large territory covering the entire South Indochina and Malaysia. The collected archaeological documents became an important foundation in the early history of the country's founding in the Southern region.

Vinh Hung Tower is typical and unique, being “the only tower-like architecture in the South that remains intact” and having “the unique characteristics of an architectural foundation remaining on the ground of the Oc Eo culture”. The formation and existence of Vinh Hung Tower contributes to proving the history of the formation and development of religion and beliefs of the ancient Oc Eo culture residents in the South - Vietnam.
"With the special values of the relic, the Prime Minister has ranked Vinh Hung Archaeological Site as a Special National Relic. This is not only the pride of the people of Vinh Loi district and Bac Lieu province, but also contributes practically to preserving the richness and diversity of Vietnam's tangible cultural heritage treasures," emphasized the Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee.

Vinh Hung archaeological site is located in Trung Hung 1B hamlet, Vinh Hung A commune, Vinh Loi district, about 20km northwest of Bac Lieu province center. Vinh Hung tower is also known as Tra Long tower, Luc Hien tower.
The thousand-year-old Vinh Hung archaeological site was discovered in 1911. This is a unique structure of historical and cultural significance, dating back to the 4th century AD. It is the only remaining Oc Eo cultural architecture in the Southwest.
In 1992, Vinh Hung Archaeological Site was recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism). In particular, on July 18, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 694/QD-TTg on ranking Vinh Hung Archaeological Site as a special national relic.
