Protect To Lich River and West Lake

On the morning of June 1, the first national scientific conference took place in Hanoi with the theme "Feng Shui - science and practical application issues in Vietnam".

At the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thiem, Director of the Center for Oriental Ancient Culture Research, analyzed feng shui and Hanoi's geomancy.

He said that Hanoi is surrounded by two large mountain dragons (air and water veins flowing from high to low, originating from the Himalayas), Hoang Lien Son and Tam Dao. Of these, the central earth-air vein with the water brain is West Lake; the water-air vein is To Lich River.

Therefore, West Lake and To Lich River are the most important locations in terms of feng shui in the capital. During the Tang Dynasty, realizing that our country had very strong acupuncture points, the Tang King sent Cao Bien - a famous general with feng shui talent - to be the Governor to suppress the important acupuncture points, but he failed due to the protection of the Vietnamese gods.

However, currently, the area around Dam Tri Lake West has many construction works that destroy the landscape; To Lich River has a narrow flow, the water source is polluted by wastewater, this is not good for Hanoi's feng shui.

Therefore, Mr. Thiem suggested that it is necessary to soon have a plan to clear the flow and clean the To Lich River, followed by the Kim Nguu River, the Set River and the lakes through which these rivers flow. In addition, it is necessary to preserve the pristine beauty of Dam Tri and the landscape of West Lake to rekindle the spiritual power.

In addition, propaganda measures should be taken so that people, enterprises and agencies living along the river banks understand the value of feng shui to be more aware in their daily lives. Do not discharge wastewater or dump garbage to pollute the above rivers.

"If the To Lich and Kim Nguu rivers and the streams from these two rivers are allowed to circulate, the water is not polluted, and the water vapor is clean, I believe it will contribute to protecting the vitality of Hanoi and making it last forever," Mr. Nghiem continued.

Feng Shui is widely applied in life.

Professor Phan Anh, Director of the Institute for Research and Application of Human Potential, said that feng shui is a familiar term that is closely associated with the social, cultural, architectural and spiritual life of Vietnamese people.

In the macro-level, the stable and sustainable development of the country is closely related to geographical factors and characteristics such as the existence and influence of geomancy and acupuncture points. These factors need to be thoroughly and deeply understood to be applied to planning at different scales to facilitate economic, political , cultural and social development.

However, in the modern context, approaching Feng Shui from a scientific perspective and applying it in practice still has many limitations. Many misconceptions and lack of scientific basis have led to inappropriate applications, even causing negative impacts on the living environment and society.

The first national scientific conference with the theme "Feng Shui - Science and Practical Application Issues in Vietnam" was organized by the Institute for Research and Application of Human Potential (Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations). The conference had 50 reports and presentations by hundreds of authors, feng shui researchers, psychics and people with special abilities.

The content of the workshop revolves around the results of scientific research on feng shui and modern feng shui, exchanging the results achieved in research on the application of feng shui in practice in Vietnam, aiming to contribute to the cause of building and protecting the country.
