VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan sent a letter to Coach Henrique Calisto congratulating him on being elected as President of the Portuguese National Coaches Association (ANTF).
The VFF leader expressed: “His assumption of the position of ANTF President after many years of dedication to Portuguese and international football, especially his great contributions to Vietnamese football, is a testament to the respect and trust that the Portuguese coaching community has for him.
We cannot forget the deep impressions he left in the history of Vietnamese football, especially the miracle of winning the AFF Cup 2008. His dedication, professionalism and ability to inspire have contributed significantly to the development of Vietnamese football, not only at the national team level but also in the training of coaches and Vietnamese youth football.
We believe that with his experience and enthusiasm, he will lead ANTF to develop more strongly, contributing to enhancing the position of Portuguese coaches in the international arena."
Mr. Henrique Calisto, who led the Vietnamese team to win the AFF Cup 2008, previously led Dong Tam Long An Club, helping the club win two V-Leagues (2005, 2006). When he led the Vietnamese team, he helped the team win the AFF Cup 2008 - Vietnam's first Southeast Asian championship title, and the SEA Games 2009 silver medal.
