Speaking with CAND Newspaper reporters, Mr. Huynh Gia Hoang, Chairman of Tuy An District People's Committee, said that for many years, the local socio -economic appearance has always been renewed and developed, 14 communes in the district have all met new rural standards, and all intra-commune traffic routes have been concreted.
“However, there are still some inter-commune and inter-district roads that need to be invested in upgrading and expanding to facilitate the needs of traveling and transporting goods by means of transport, contributing to socio-economic development. However, to be able to invest in upgrading and expanding, in addition to the investment cost for building and installing concrete roads, a large land fund is needed, while the district budget is limited and does not have enough funds to compensate and support when reclaiming land to build roads. Faced with that reality, the Tuy An District Party Committee and People's Committee focused on directing the Party Committees and authorities of An Dan, An Hiep, and An Linh communes to mobilize the strength of the entire political system to participate in and mobilize people to donate land to build roads,” the Chairman of the Tuy An District People's Committee added.

Mr. Vo Van Thien, Chairman of An Linh Commune People's Committee, said that the road from Phong Lanh village, An Linh commune to Phu Xuan village, An Hiep commune is located on steep hills and steep mountain slopes, so traffic is difficult. Implementing the policy of the District Party Committee and Tuy An District People's Committee, the working group of An Linh commune went to each family to exchange information and at the same time mobilize each person to donate land to build the road. It is easy in cases of a few dozen square meters, but for people with several hundred, even thousands of square meters of upland land on which they are making a living, the mobilization must be skillful and gentle. Sometimes when encountering obstacles that seem impossible to convince, however, with perseverance, flexibility and clear evidence of the advantages of building a large, open traffic route, the working group successfully mobilized 100% of people whose land is located on the traffic route that needs to be built.
Accordingly, 22 people in An Linh and An Hiep communes donated 5,250m2 of land to construct a 1,541m long road, including many people who donated large areas of land such as Mr. Tran Ngoi 1,020m2, Nguyen Van Hung 500m2, Nguyen Van Phu 420m2, Nguyen Van Ke 400m2... Mr. Tran Ngoi, residing in Phong Lanh village, An Linh commune confided: "My family is cultivating fertile land, growing corn, cassava, sesame, beans or acacia trees, all of which are good, but when listening to the working group of the People's Committee of An Nghiep commune clearly analyze the advantages in traffic and socio-economic development in the locality if the road connecting the two communes of An Linh - An Hiep is completed, my family agreed to donate the largest area of land".
Traveling on the newly constructed concrete road with a 5m wide roadbed and 0.75m wide sidewalks on each side, including many sections with markers, traffic signs and drainage ditches, many local people are happy because from now on, in addition to traveling, the need to transport goods by motorbike and car is also convenient, and the price of agricultural products will also be lower than before.
According to Mr. Vo Van Khuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Dan commune, previously, the road section from the Cay Duoi - Da Do intersection in An Dan commune, Tuy An district connecting to Xuan Son Bac commune, Dong Xuan district was still narrow, bumpy and rocky, with sections that were often flooded during the rainy season. The commune's working group made efforts to mobilize 24 households to donate land with a total area of 2,261m2 to upgrade and expand the road to more than 1,000m long, with a roadbed width of 5.5m and a sidewalk on each side of 1m. Most of the people highly agreed and actively supported the local government to receive the land and then hand it over to the Tuy An district Land Fund Development and Investment Project Management Board to carry out the construction. After the road was completed, not only the people in An Dan commune, Tuy An district, but also the people in Xuan Son Bac commune, Dong Xuan district were happy.
Contacting CAND Newspaper reporters next to the rice field that was being plowed and prepared for sowing, Mr. Truong Van Minh, residing in My Long village, An Dan commune, shared: “The land I am cultivating is located at the first position of the road. When the working group of An Dan commune came to persuade, I did not hesitate but agreed with the general policy of the district, immediately donating 455m2 for road construction and installation and was also the person who donated the largest area of land. Not only me but many people here are very happy to have a large, airy road.”
Mr. Pham Son Lam, Deputy Director of the Project Management Board for Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development of Tuy An District, said that the two roads in the three communes of An Dan, An Hiep and An Linh have a total length of 2,541m, and were invested in construction with a total cost of VND10.7 billion. In addition, there are 7,511m2 of land voluntarily donated to the state by 46 households, which is of great value and significance, showing the positive consensus of the people with the motto "The State and the people work together".
“These are the first two roads that have received the largest land donation ever in Tuy An district and will be a lesson in mass mobilization for many other activities,” added Mr. Huynh Gia Hoang, Chairman of Tuy An District People's Committee.
