Painter Do Bang was born in 1961 in Bac Ninh and taught at the Hanoi University of Industrial Fine Arts. In addition to his creative work, he was also the Vice Principal of Bac Ninh College of Culture, Arts and Tourism and Deputy Director of Bac Ninh Provincial Museum.
Painter Do Bang is a member of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association and the Bac Ninh Province Literature and Arts Association. He pursues an expressive, humanistic style, using diverse materials with concise compositions and strong colors. The painter said that, for him, "painting is not just about recounting a scene. I paint to preserve a feeling, a rural soul that is gradually disappearing."

The exhibition “Xam Cho” focuses on the greatest inspiration in his paintings: Northern culture with the countryside space, festivals, quan ho folk songs, beliefs and rustic sounds of rural life that are gradually disappearing. The works displayed at the exhibition introduce to the public the journey of preserving cultural memories through the artist’s bold folk colors, spanning his main creative stages. In particular, the first stage - lyrical, expressive, has many works: “Lap Xuan”, “Ram thang 7”, “Buoi mat mua ha”, “Le cau dong”, “Canh kieu tuoi tho”, “Tieng flute mua ha”. The later stage - folk, daily life, has the works “Xam cho”, “Dieu khen mua xuan”, “Xuong cho”, “Mid-Autumn Festival”, “Thung lang binh”...
