On the morning of June 4, at Hong Quang Primary School, Nam Truc District, Nam Dinh Province, a working delegation of the Vietnam Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Association (PCCC and CNCH) in coordination with the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department, Nam Dinh Provincial Police presented a Certificate of Gratitude from the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Association and a support amount of 5 million VND from the "For a Peaceful Life" Fund to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, a teacher at Hong Quang Primary School, to recognize and honor her brave act of saving people.

Mr. Bui Xuan Thai, representative of the Vietnam Fire Prevention and Rescue Association, spoke, expressing gratitude and honoring the brave act of saving lives of teacher Nguyen Thi Mai.

Previously, at around 6:30 a.m. on May 26, while on her way from Nam Dinh City to her hometown, at the Do Quan Bridge area (Tran Hung Dao Ward, Nam Dinh City), Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai discovered someone struggling in the Dao River. Without hesitation, despite having just spent two sleepless nights taking care of a relative at the hospital, Ms. Mai immediately found a way down to the dike, ran along the riverbank for nearly 100 meters and jumped into the whirlpool to save the person. The victim was a 12th grade female student at a high school in Nam Dinh City.
