Realizing the role of information in development, Bao Yen district has focused on strengthening infrastructure and improving the efficiency of the grassroots information system. The radio broadcasting system in communes has been invested and upgraded, ensuring that information is transmitted quickly, accurately and widely. At the same time, the postal and telecommunications infrastructure has also been consolidated and expanded, creating favorable conditions for people to access new technology and knowledge.

Currently, 100% of the district’s communes and towns have met the information and communication criteria. In particular, the percentage of households that can listen to Voice of Vietnam Radio is 99.9%, and the percentage of households that can watch Vietnam Television is 99.5%. These telling figures are clear evidence of the continuous efforts to bring information closer to the people.
Not only stopping at infrastructure, Bao Yen district also focuses on innovating communication content in a practical, easy-to-understand and close-to-life direction. Radio and television programs are vividly developed, focusing on instructing production and breeding techniques, and applying science and technology to household economic development. From 2021 to present, the district has developed and released many reports and documentaries promoting typical examples in the poverty reduction movement, thereby contributing to changing the mindset of "waiting and relying", promoting the spirit of self-reliance.

Real stories, real people like Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc in Nhai Ten 2 village, Kim Son commune, boldly learning, investing in developing livestock farming towards commodities, bio-safety, bringing in hundreds of millions of dong in revenue each year, rising out of poverty, have created motivation for local women to be more confident, creative and start a business.
A notable highlight in information and communication work in Bao Yen is the organization of direct dialogue conferences with the people. During the period of 2021 - 2025, the district organized 11 poverty reduction dialogue conferences in 11 communes, with the participation of more than 1,000 people. Through these conferences, local authorities not only listened to their thoughts and aspirations but also directly answered and guided them.

The effectiveness of information and propaganda has opened the way and shown the way out of poverty for people, making an important contribution to the sustainable poverty reduction work of Bao Yen district. By the end of 2024, Bao Yen had 1,307 poor households (6.11%) and 1,112 near-poor households (5.20%). The district aims to reduce the number to 771 poor households (3.60%) and 844 near-poor households (3.94%) by the end of 2025, down 2.5% and 1.25% respectively compared to the previous year. The whole district has reduced 3,515 poor households, equivalent to 16.66%, exceeding the set target. The average annual poverty reduction rate reached 4.17%, higher than the average of 3-4% according to the national plan. The whole district has no households falling back into poverty, this is an achievement that clearly demonstrates the sustainability of the multidimensional poverty reduction strategy. In particular, 100% of communes in the area have met the criteria for multidimensional poverty rate in new rural construction, affirming Bao Yen's strong progress on the path of comprehensive development.

Promoting the achievements in communication and poverty reduction in information in the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the period 2021 - 2025, in the coming time, Bao Yen district will continue to promote support for people, especially the poor, to use telecommunications, internet services, and information technology applications; helping poor and near-poor households to be more proactive in accessing policies, information, seeking support sources and learning from experiences and solutions to improve their lives, increase income, and escape poverty sustainably.
