According to data from the Overseas Labor Management Department, of the 13,750 workers sent abroad in May, traditional markets still accounted for the majority. Taiwan (China) ranked first with 6,595 workers, Japan ranked second with 5,544 workers and South Korea with 735 workers. The rest were other markets.
Japan is a market that is in need of receiving a large number of nursing staff from Vietnam.
In the first 5 months of the year, the Japanese market ranked first with 29,902 workers (12,941 female workers), Taiwan (China) with 22,132 workers (7,061 female workers), and South Korea with 4,977 workers (522 female workers). In 2025, the Ministry of Internal Affairs set a goal of sending 130,000 workers to work abroad, which has so far reached 47.4% of the annual plan.
According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management, in addition to promoting expansion to markets in the Middle East and Europe to increase opportunities for workers, this unit has also increased inspections and examinations of businesses that send Vietnamese workers abroad to work. Accordingly, in May, a series of businesses were fined for violating related regulations such as: Phuc Thai High Technology Joint Stock Company, JH Human Resources Joint Stock Company, SD Group Investment Joint Stock Company, etc.
