The song Giac Mo Canh Kite is not simply a film ending song. It is a summary of the spirit throughout the journey that De Men and his friends have gone through, the spirit of love, dedication, connection and hope. The music combines traditional nursery rhymes and modern elements such as rap, creating an emotional “bridge” between generations: adults find nostalgia, children feel close. The image of a kite not only evokes childhood but is also a symbol of dreams, courage and attachment to one’s roots.

Musician Khoi Vu shared that this is “a journey to bring his childhood closer to the childhood of children”. For director Mai Phuong, the kite is a metaphor for a human life, always needing a bond of love to hold it together. As for Masew, the project’s music director, the song is where he puts the audience’s emotions above his artistic ego.
Beyond its musical value, The Kite Dream is also a manifesto of a generation of professionals. The film De Men: The Adventure to the Swamp is produced entirely with domestic resources, without remakes or borrowing foreign technology. The crew knows they cannot yet compare to Disney or Pixar, giant entertainment industrial machines, but they have chosen to start, despite the difficulties.
Like a kite needs wind to fly, Vietnamese animation also needs support from the audience, the distribution system and a belief: that Vietnamese people can create a proud product from their own dreams.
However, De Men: Adventure to the Swamp is still facing many challenges in conquering the market. Vietnamese audiences still prefer foreign animated films, especially familiar brands such as Doraemon or Lilo & Stitch . These films have advantages in terms of reputation, high production quality, well-organized promotional campaigns and loyal fan communities. Meanwhile, De Men is a new project, does not have a solid brand foundation and is having difficulty building an audience.
For Vietnamese animation to truly take off, the road ahead is still full of challenges, requiring not only perseverance and creativity from professionals, but also the constant support of audiences and policies to support the development of the domestic animation industry.
