At the end of the reception, Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran presented a very meaningful gift to Mrs. Evelin Oras. It was a mosaic of Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Mrs. Evelin Oras made from nearly 2,000 pieces of fabric.
Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran shared that this unique work of art was made by 10 disabled artisans of the Vun Art Cooperative - a collective economic model established in 2018 with the desire to preserve and introduce traditional culture, create jobs for the disabled and take advantage of leftover materials in the production process to protect the environment. To create this work, the artisans used nearly 2,000 pieces of fabric and worked continuously for 5 days to complete the design, cutting and finally assembling this picture.
Through the painting, Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran wishes to convey the message of environmental protection, sustainable economic development as well as the preservation of Vietnamese silk village culture. The work also demonstrates the perseverance, efforts to rise up, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, integrating with the community and making positive contributions to society of disadvantaged people in Vietnam.
Receiving the painting from Madam Le Thi Bich Tran, Madam Evelin Oras could not hide her emotion. She expressed: “I am extremely grateful and touched by this very special and meaningful gift. I really like it.”
