Special painting given by the Vietnamese Prime Minister's wife to the Estonian Prime Minister's wife

Madam Le Thi Bich Tran gave a very meaningful gift to Madam Evelin Oras, which was a mosaic of Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Madam Evelin Oras made from nearly 2,000 pieces of fabric.

Madam Evelin Oras also hosted Madam Le Thi Bich Tran with Estonian dishes. The two ladies had a very cozy lunch, close like two long-time friends meeting. The two ladies discussed the culture, people, and beautiful landscapes of the two countries. Madam Evelin Oras also shared about digital transformation and waste classification in Estonia with Madam Le Thi Bich Tran. In particular, she also mentioned the extremely high-quality Vietnamese Golden Star Balm product.

At the end of the reception, Madam Le Thi Bich Tran presented a very meaningful gift to Madam Evelin Oras. It was a mosaic of Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Madam Evelin Oras made from nearly 2,000 pieces of fabric.

Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran shared that this unique work of art was made by 10 disabled artisans of the Vun Art Cooperative - a collective economic model established in 2018 with the desire to preserve and introduce traditional culture, create jobs for the disabled and utilize surplus materials in the production process to protect the environment. To create this work, the artisans used nearly 2,000 pieces of fabric and worked continuously for 5 days to complete the design, cutting and finally assembling this picture.

Through the painting, Mrs. Le Thi Bich Tran wishes to convey the message of environmental protection, sustainable economic development as well as the preservation of Vietnamese silk village culture. The work also demonstrates the perseverance, efforts to rise up, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, integrating with the community and making positive contributions to society of disadvantaged people in Vietnam.

Receiving the painting from Madam Le Thi Bich Tran, Madam Evelin Oras could not hide her emotion. She expressed: “I am extremely grateful and touched by this very special and meaningful gift. I really like it.”

Earlier, the two Ladies visited the Estonian Academy of Arts, the Tallinn University of Music and Ballet and the Maison Lili Jahilo Design Center.

The Estonian Academy of Arts is the only public university in Estonia offering higher education in fine arts, design, architecture, media, visual studies, arts and culture, cultural heritage and conservation. It is the country's leading centre of innovation in visual culture and currently has over 1,100 students enrolled and is taught by 89 Professors, Associate Professors, teachers and lecturers from Estonia and abroad.

Visiting art and culture training schools and fashion centers, Madam Le Thi Bich Tran expressed her impression of the way Estonia promotes the country's cultural values and hoped that Estonia would share the promotion and preservation of cultural values with Vietnam in the future.
