On the evening of December 5 at the National Cinema Center (Hanoi), the Polish Film Week in Vietnam 2025 officially began. The film week was organized to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, in which the Department of Cinema and the Polish Film Producers Association coordinated.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Grzegorz Napieralski - representative of the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians' Group and the Inter-Parliamentary Union Group of the Polish Parliament highly appreciated the long-standing traditional cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Besides, he emphasized, the two countries, two peoples and two cultures are also very close to each other. The Polish and Vietnamese people both cherish their independence, love their national culture, as well as appreciate hospitality and relationships with other peoples.
“We are proud of our past and cultural heritage, and open to other cultures,” said Grzegorz Napieralski.
The organizers said that there will be 7 works screened from December 5 to 9 in Hanoi, then continue from December 10 to 14 in Ho Chi Minh City. The 7 films are 7 stories of diverse genres and nuances from Poland, including "Entropia" - a short film depicting a slice of Vietnamese life in a foreign land - directed by Anna Fam-Rieskaniemi.
Revolving around the conflict between two generations of Vietnamese living abroad, issues of identity are clearly revealed, but through the dialogues, we see empathy because we share many core values.

According to Director of the Department of Cinema Dang Tran Cuong, "Entropia" was warmly received by Polish audiences when it was first released. "It is a meaningful recognition of the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in this country, to the economic, cultural, social development and international cooperation between the two countries," Mr. Cuong commented.
Following the same evening is "Blacksheep" by director Aleksander Pietrzak. The film tells the story of a seemingly perfect family that suddenly "reveals" a series of mysteries and troubles at the same time. With family affection, all members put aside their own difficulties to work together.
7 are works rich in themes, diverse in genres with modern filmmaking, attractive scripts, evoking emotions and deep thoughts, thereby aiming at sympathy and love between people.
