Responding to the HĐLĐGT movement, the family of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chinh (born in 1969, Giap Nhat residential group, Huong Van ward, Huong Tra town) voluntarily demolished the fence and donated land with a total area of 100m2 to widen the road. Mr. Chinh shared: “The road passing my house was only over 1m wide before, making it difficult for vehicles to pass each other. When local officials promoted and mobilized HĐLĐGT, I voluntarily cut off part of my family's land to open the road. Now, the road has been renovated, concreted and is over 3m wide, vehicles can travel comfortably, the landscape is green - clean - beautiful, everyone is excited".
Mr. Le Quang Ngai, Secretary of the Giap Nhat Residential Group Party Cell, said that thanks to the consensus and joint efforts of the people, the narrow inter-hamlet roads of the past have disappeared, replaced by open, clean and beautiful roads. For example, the road leading to Van Xa communal house, a national historical site, has now become spacious and airy, not only helping people travel conveniently, but also creating conditions for tourism development by attracting more and more groups of visitors to visit and learn...
“There are still some small, narrow roads in the area that are difficult to implement, but thanks to propaganda work and the determination of the people, these roads have been embanked and expanded, and now they are just waiting to be concreted,” Mr. Ngai shared.
In fact, mobilizing people to donate land for road construction and public works is not simple. However, thanks to good propaganda and mass mobilization work and the participation of authorities at all levels, from 2020 to now, people of Huong Tra town have donated more than 150,000 m2 of land to expand nearly 120km of roads and alleys. Roads built by people's strength are proving effective in serving socio -economic development.
In Phong Chuong commune (Phong Dien town), the movement of donating land without receiving compensation to build roads has recently made its mark. Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huyen, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said that the movement of donating land for road construction has received a large response from the people, especially at a time when the locality is promoting the program of building new rural areas. In the past 5 years, Phong Chuong has invested in nearly 10 large and small traffic routes; in which the capital contributed by the people from donating land is worth more than 6 billion VND.
Similarly, implementing the Party and State's policy on implementing the movement of the whole people uniting to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, from 2021 to present, Mr. Hoang Lon's family in Bac - Trieu - Vinh village, Phong Hien ward (Phong Dien town) has responded and voluntarily donated 5,000m2 of forest land to open 2 traffic routes to serve the people's travel and agricultural production as well as create a clean and beautiful rural appearance.
According to Mr. Hoang Van Thai, Vice Chairman of Phong Dien Town People's Committee, identifying the expansion of traffic routes as a breakthrough to create the premise for building a new rural area, the local Labor Union movement was born from that. Up to now, Phong Dien has more than 4,350 households participating in donating 578 thousand square meters of land, investing in nearly 300 welfare works and roads, with a value of nearly 58 billion VND, contributing to the construction of a new rural area with high efficiency; in which many localities are building a new rural area in the direction of urban civilization.
“The national target program for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas has been identified by Phong Dien as a key and continuous task. To achieve new results, in addition to the work that needs to be done, the government has high expectations for the noble gestures and meaningful work of the HĐLĐGT movement to continue to spread and expand, creating momentum for the locality to develop further in the coming time,” said Mr. Thai.
