On the occasion of International Children's Day June 1 and Children's Month, at Ho Van space (in the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam), the program "Growing up with tradition" was organized with the highlight being the activities of experiencing making folk handicrafts.

Here, children are not only introduced to Dong Ho folk paintings, lacquer paintings, eggshell inlay techniques, or mosaic art, but also get to make and complete their own work.

As aneducator , Ms. Que Dung prioritizes activities that help children approach traditions like this. She and her two children inlaid eggshells to make lacquer paintings.

Although using only alternative materials and a simplified process, she still feels satisfied because her children have learned about an art form that contributes to Vietnamese identity - an indispensable part in the process of forming personal identity in each child.

From Thanh Tri, Ms. Thuy Linh and her daughter planned to go to Van Lake early. Her goal when coming here was not only to find a place for her child to play, but also to let her child directly feel and touch Do paper, and paint each colorful stroke on the familiar and beautiful Dong Ho painting.

Activities like this are also a way to promote the application of folk art in modern life, such as using Bat Trang pottery for decorative mosaics, bringing new life to long-standing products./.
