The plan clearly states that the information and propaganda to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the success of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam through the mass media aims to: Propagandize for cadres, party members and people to deeply understand the significance, role and great historical value of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) in the history of the nation's struggle to build and defend the country; affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland, which is the decisive factor for the victory of the revolution; continue to strengthen the people's belief in the correct leadership of the Party and the path to socialism.
Educate on political ideology, patriotism, historical traditions, and national culture; encourage and motivate the entire Party, people, and army to promote the spirit of patriotism, self-reliance, and the strength of great national unity; express deep gratitude to the generations who sacrificed their blood for national independence and unification; affirm the determination of the entire Party, people, and army in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.
Regarding propaganda work, the Ministry noted that central and local press agencies need to ensure the correct political and ideological orientation, especially for important, complex and sensitive issues; propagate in many rich and diverse forms, with focus and key points; ensure regularity and continuity, promote persuasiveness, quality and effectiveness, create a spreading effect throughout the Party and society; encourage the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to compete to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, make achievements to welcome Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Central and local news agencies and press proactively coordinate with relevant agencies to develop propaganda plans and programs in many appropriate forms, ensuring solemnity, practicality, effectiveness, comprehensiveness, focus, and key points, combining tradition and modernity to create a widespread influence throughout society.
With the theme “Immortal Spirit of August Revolution and National Day September 2”, the contents focused on propagating the context, developments, causes of victory and lessons learned of the August Revolution; affirming the stature of the times and historical significance of the August Revolution and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam); the creative application of those lessons learned in the struggle for national reunification, especially in the current period of innovation and international integration.
Besides, it propagates the great achievements that our Party and people have achieved in 80 years of building, protecting, developing the country and fulfilling noble international obligations; affirms the great contributions and contributions of our entire Party, people and army and the valuable help of international friends in the past 80 years.
Along with that is the propaganda highlighting the great achievements of historical significance in nearly 40 years of national renovation, emphasizing and affirming that the "Era of Rising" of the Vietnamese people is an era defined by breakthrough and accelerated development under the leadership of the Party, aiming to build a rich, democratic, fair, civilized, prosperous, happy Vietnam, on par with the world's great powers.
At the same time, clarify the opportunities, advantages and difficulties, and intertwined challenges of the country as well as the requirements and tasks of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation, especially in terms of socio-economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, firmly protecting national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity...; proactively fight and refute false information and viewpoints of hostile forces and political opportunists that distort and deny the value and historical significance of the August Revolution, the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; strengthen propaganda to protect the Party's ideological foundation.
In addition, propagandize and reflect the commemorative activities, emulation movements at all levels, sectors, and localities, the activities of "remembering the source of water when drinking", "repaying gratitude"; showing gratitude to the generations who have made great contributions in the resistance wars for national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; promptly reflecting the exciting atmosphere and trust in the Party's leadership among the people; patriotic emulation movements towards the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress, welcoming the Party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Time and progress of information and propaganda are divided into stages: In the pre-event stage (from now until July 31, 2025), based on the objectives and orientations of the press management and leadership agencies, press agencies urgently develop plans and deploy news routes and propaganda articles to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During the peak period of the event (from August 1, 2025 to September 2, 2025), the Ministry requires all press agencies to focus on launching a high-level, in-depth, and intensive propaganda campaign during this time by maximizing news and articles about the event; encouraging the organization of cultural, artistic, commemorative, discussion, exchange, commendation, and meeting programs... with new, vivid content and forms that have a wide influence...
In addition, the Ministry also requested all press agencies to focus on promoting key events and activities, especially the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Meetings of leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front with veteran cadres, historical witnesses, people with meritorious services to the revolution, typical policy families; international guests; National seminars; special art programs, and many other events and activities organized by central and local departments, ministries, branches, and organizations.
In the post-event period, press agencies continued to inform and propagate the results of activities to create a favorable atmosphere, encourage and motivate cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to strive to successfully carry out political, economic and social tasks; welcome party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
