Da Nang is a popular destination for tourists

In the first days of 2024, Da Nang welcomed about 402,000 visitors, an increase of 37% over the same period in 2023, of which international visitors are estimated to reach nearly 177,000. This shows that Da Nang is still a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists.

One of the advantages that tourists appreciate is that Da Nang regularly renews its destinations. For example, during the recent Lunar New Year, many Tet decoration miniatures were installed, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and enjoy. Not to mention, tourist areas and spots also have entertainment activities and art performances to serve tourists.

Arriving in Da Nang from the Zhao Shang Yi Dun cruise ship (February 14), Ms. Chen Liu Yang (a Taiwanese-Chinese tourist) spent a lot of time going out and visiting areas near the city center. She shared that she had previously only known Da Nang as a coastal city, but when she arrived, she was quite surprised by the vibrant and bustling atmosphere. Although the first days of the new year had passed, the Tet atmosphere was still bustling, and the streets were decorated with brilliant colors. Because the ship stayed overnight at Tien Sa port, Ms. Yang and many other tourists had more time to visit Ba Na, museums, etc.

In addition to the attractions and check-in points in the city center, many tourists choose tourist areas to visit at the beginning of the year. Recently, bus route No. 3 with the starting and ending points connecting Da Nang International Airport with Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area has been put into operation, contributing to increasing the choice of transportation solutions for tourists when coming to Da Nang. Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area also has many art programs and festivals to serve the people and tourists. Ms. Song Min Hee (Korean tourist) shared the reason for choosing Sun World Ba Na Hills in her family's journey because this place is both a spiritual place to visit at the beginning of the year and has spring festival activities with many other interesting experiences.

To enrich the tourism products in the city, Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center innovates tourism products from cyclo. The fleet of 83 vehicles is designed uniformly in style, color, size, costumes, especially the straw hats of the drivers with the Danang Fantasticity logo, contributing to a more beautiful image for Da Nang.

The representative of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center said that the members of the tourist cyclo team have good health, understand traffic laws, foreign languages ​​and have knowledge of tourist attractions in Da Nang city. Every year, the team members participate in foreign language training courses, knowledge and skills on civilized behavior in serving tourists organized by the center. Thanks to that, the City tour around the city by cyclo helps tourists enjoy and explore the inner city of Da Nang (Han River, Dragon Bridge, Han River Bridge, Cham Sculpture Museum, APEC Sculpture Park, Han Market, Cathedral ...) and enjoy local cuisine with a journey lasting 30-45 minutes, chosen by many tourists, especially international visitors.

It is known that in 2024, Da Nang tourism industry aims to welcome 8.4 million tourists. The high number of domestic and international visitors to Da Nang during the recent Lunar New Year is a positive signal for the city's tourism. Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Tan Van Vuong said that from the stepping stone of the number of visitors in the first days of the new year, Da Nang continues to promote and advertise activities, improve the quality of existing tourism products and services. Along with that is the diversification of services and products, increasing experiences to meet the increasing needs of tourists.

The tourism industry organizes research on trends and tastes of tourists in key and potential markets, forecasts the market situation; organizes appropriate tourism stimulus activities; at the same time, surveys and searches for new and potential markets and market segments; develops online platforms targeting international markets: Douyin (Taiwan, China), Naver (Korea); promotes hiring Da Nang tourism representatives in key international markets (in 2024, re-nominate Da Nang tourism representatives in Korea, Japan; in 2025, re-nominate Da Nang tourism representatives in China, India, Australia, Indonesia); promotes the restoration of regular and charter international flights from China; Da Nang-Doha flight route to reconnect North American and European markets; expands flights to Indonesia, India, Japan (Nagoya, Osaka), Phuket (Thailand), northeastern Thailand, Gangwon (Korea); tourists by sea...
