Dien Bien: In the first quarter of 2025, nearly 300 violations of goods origin and prohibited goods were detected and handled.

In the first quarter, strictly implementing the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister , the National Steering Committee 389, the Steering Committees 389 of ministries, branches, provinces and cities across the country proactively developed plans to effectively implement the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2025.

Accordingly, the authorities have detected and handled nearly 30,700 violations. Of these, nearly 6,800 cases of trading and transporting prohibited and smuggled goods have been detected and arrested; more than 1,100 cases of commercial fraud and tax fraud have been detected and arrested; over 4,600 billion VND has been collected for the State budget; and more than 1,300 cases have been prosecuted, with over 2,000 subjects.

In Dien Bien province, in the first quarter, especially during the peak period before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025, the departments and branches of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 assigned forces to inspect, check and supervise more than 460 establishments. Thereby, nearly 300 cases were discovered, arrested and handled, with 315 subjects violating goods of unknown origin, trading in rare animals and drug crimes.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son requested the Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches and localities nationwide to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, and the National Steering Committee 389 on the prevention of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods; proactively and synchronously implement solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the local situation and assigned tasks; focus on fighting and effectively preventing the trading of poor-quality goods on cyberspace; prevent the illegal purchase, sale, smuggling and transportation of fake goods of Vietnamese origin for export to other countries; and at the same time effectively combat drug crimes./.
