According to CNBC , US President Donald Trump said on June 4 that he had a phone call with Russian leader Vladimir Putin for more than an hour, discussing Ukraine's latest attack on a Russian airbase as well as US nuclear negotiations with Iran.
During the phone call, President Putin said Moscow would retaliate against Kiev for Ukraine's attack on more than 40 Russian bombers.

“The call went well, but did not lead to immediate peace ,” Trump wrote on TruthSocial.
"President Putin has made it clear that he will respond to the recent attacks on Russian airfields," the White House chief added.
The two Russian and US leaders also discussed Iran and its nuclear program.
"We also discussed Iran and the fact that time is running out to make a decision regarding nuclear weapons. They must make a decision quickly. I told President Putin that Iran cannot have nuclear weapons and I believe we are all in agreement on this," Trump wrote.
According to the White House boss, President Putin has suggested joining discussions with Iran and could help bring the issue to a quick conclusion.
