At the conference, the President of Asian Athletics, Mr. Dahlan Jumaan Al Hamad, highly appreciated the strong development of the athletics movement in Vietnam, especially the outstanding achievements in the regional and continental arenas in recent times. Mr. Al Hamad said that the results of Vietnam's athletics are a vivid proof of the spirit of overcoming difficulties and a source of inspiration for the entire continent, thereby expressing great expectations and wishing that Vietnam's athletics will continue to promote the above achievements.
According to the roadmap for hosting international tournaments, from now until 2027, Vietnam will host a Southeast Asian regional athletics tournament. By 2030, Vietnam aims to organize a continental tournament.

Representing Vietnam, General Secretary of the Vietnam Athletics Federation Nguyen Manh Hung, a member of the Asian Athletics Council, presented proposals to promote the development of Vietnamese athletics. The key proposals include developing grassroots athletics and high-performance athletics.
Regarding grassroots athletics, Vietnam proposed that the Asian Athletics Council support the implementation of a national-scale youth athletics program in schools and standardize the grassroots competition system in Vietnam. Regarding the development of high-performance athletics, Vietnam proposed that the Asian Athletics Council introduce high-quality training locations and introduce world- leading experts so that the Vietnamese athletics team can participate in long-term training, aiming to win gold medals at the ASIAD, the Asian Championships and reach Olympic standards.

In the Southeast Asian region, over the past two decades, Vietnamese athletics has increasingly asserted its position with prominent faces such as Vu Thi Huong, Truong Thanh Hang of the previous generation or Nguyen Thi Oanh, Nguyen Thi Huyen, Quach Thi Lan... In the last three SEA Games, Vietnamese athletics also twice surpassed Thailand to take the number 1 position. However, the Asian Games and Olympic arenas are still beyond the reach of Vietnamese athletics.
The results at the Asian Athletics Council Conference are expected to open up new opportunities to raise the level of Vietnamese athletics, creating more outstanding faces, capable of competing in the continental and world arenas.
