Due to the impact of storm circulation No. 11 (MATMO), many northern provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh ... suffered heavy rain, flash floods, landslides and widespread flooding. Rising water levels made many areas, power lines and transformer stations unsafe. Power units proactively suspended power supply in dangerous locations to ensure the safety of people and equipment.

According to the update at 9:00 a.m. on October 9, power units under the Northern Power Corporation (EVNNPC) are urgently implementing measures to overcome the consequences of floods and rains, focusing on restoring power supply to affected areas.

For the 110kV grid, in Thai Nguyen , 2/2 transformer stations (Thai Nguyen Cement, Thinh Dan) have been completely restored. For the medium voltage grid, the total number of affected lines and branches is 132, of which 55 have been restored, and 77 are still being processed.

Regarding distribution transformer stations, up to now, 1,320/2,595 stations have been restored, mainly affected in Thai Nguyen, Bac Ninh, Lang Son and Cao Bang . In Thai Nguyen, 2/2 drainage pumping stations have returned to normal operation, contributing to supporting drainage and stabilizing people's lives.

Regarding the situation of affected customers, the total number of customers affected by flooding is 547,150. Of which, power supply has been restored to 366,099 customers, reaching about 66.9%; currently, 181,051 customers are still affected, mainly in areas with deep flooding and complex terrain.

Despite the difficult weather conditions, EVNNPC and its member power companies are still working day and night, mobilizing maximum forces, equipment and means to overcome the consequences of floods, gradually restoring safe and quick power supply. Top priority is given to restoring power to drainage pumping stations, hospitals, administrative centers and essential infrastructure.

EVNNPC affirms that safety is always the number one priority in the process of restoring power. Units will only connect power after checking and assessing the absolute safety conditions for people and equipment.
