On June 21, the Organizing Committee for the establishment of the Mekong Delta Press Club in coordination with the Representative Office of Vietnam Family Magazine in Can Tho City organized the opening ceremony of the Mekong Delta Press Billiards Tournament - PRESS BILLIARDS 100.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, spoke at the opening ceremony.
The tournament was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). The tournament gathered nearly 100 players who are journalists, reporters, editors, and collaborators from press agencies operating in the Mekong Delta region, along with sponsors.
The special feature of the tournament is the free carom doubles competition format, with a random draw between the two press agencies, creating fairness, surprise and excitement for each match.
The tournament is not only a sports playground, but also an opportunity for reporters, editors, journalists and those working in the media field to exchange, connect and strengthen solidarity after stressful working hours.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, sent his congratulations to the athletes on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
"This tournament is not only an opportunity for journalists to express their passion for sports, but also a place for everyone to share laughter and joy after stressful working hours. Although each person comes from a different agency and field, here through each delicate and skillful move, everyone shares a love for the profession and a close team spirit" - Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan emphasized.

Reporter Cao Phong ( Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper) shared: "This is not just a simple tournament, but also an opportunity for us to meet, exchange, and connect with each other after months of hard work. We are very happy, excited and proud to participate in this tournament."
The pair of players Nguyen Minh Thao (Can Tho Newspaper) - Nguyen Thanh Sang (sponsor) won first prize.
On this occasion, the Executive Board of the Mekong Delta Press Club was also introduced. The Board has 15 members who are office heads, representative office managers, and reporters from many press agencies. Among them, Mr. Nguyen Ba Hien, Head of the Representative Board of the People's Army Newspaper in Can Tho, is the interim Chairman of the Club.
The pair of players Dinh Thien Chi (VTV Can Tho) and Tran Ngoc Thien (Vietnam News Agency) won second prize.
The pair of players Huynh Ngoc Minh Tuan (Health and Environment Magazine) - Nguyen Duc Khanh (Today's Rural Newspaper) won third prize.

The pair of players Nguyen Trung Thanh (An Giang Radio and Television Station) - Truong Quoc Toan (Tuoi Tre Newspaper) won fourth prize.
The final results showed that the first prize went to the pair of players Nguyen Minh Thao (Can Tho Newspaper) - Nguyen Thanh Sang (sponsor), the second prize went to the pair of players Dinh Thien Chi (VTV Can Tho) and Tran Ngoc Thien (Vietnam News Agency), the third prize went to the pair of players Huynh Ngoc Minh Tuan (Health and Environment Magazine) - Nguyen Duc Khanh (Nong Thon Ngay Nay Newspaper), and the fourth prize went to the pair of players Nguyen Trung Thanh (An Giang Radio and Television Station) - Truong Quoc Toan (Tuoi Tre Newspaper).
Reporter Phung Duy Nhan (Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper) was awarded the "player from the sea and islands" prize.
In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded the "promising player" prize to the pair Ta Minh Dat (Can Tho Radio and Television Station) and Luong Huu Phuoc (Hau Giang Newspaper). Another special feature of the prize is that reporter Phung Duy Nhan (Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper) was awarded the "player from the sea and islands" prize.
At the same time, the point that created excitement for the tournament was that player Nguyen Thanh Sang (first prize) scored a series of 51 points.
