On August 21, 2025, the working delegation of the Department of Science and Technology of Quang Ngai province had a working session with the People's Committee of Ia Chim commune to grasp the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, national security and defense in the area (according to Decision No. 518/QD-UBND dated July 31, 2025 of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province); evaluate the work of building digital government on ensuring infrastructure and operating equipment of key information systems at the People's Committee, the Public Administration Service Center at the commune level serving the local government at 2 levels; the implementation of plans, decisions, and directives of the province on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation (KH,CN,DMST&CĐS).

Ia Chim commune has a total natural area of ​​115.49 km2. The whole commune has 21 villages (including: 08 Kinh ethnic villages and 13 ethnic minority villages); population of 21,142 people (of which: 12,540 ethnic minorities, accounting for 59% of the total population of the commune; 8,602 Kinh ethnic people, accounting for 41%).

The total area of ​​crops in the first 6 months of 2025 is 9,978.7 ha/9,621 ha, reaching 104.1% of the plan. Of which, the winter-spring crop area of ​​2024-2025 is 1,264 ha/1,444 ha, reaching 87.53% of the plan; the perennial crop area is 5,933/5,343 ha, reaching 111.04% of the plan. The total livestock herd is currently 18,275/19,220, reaching 96.37% of the plan; the total poultry herd is 60,100/54,000, reaching 111.3% of the plan. Disease prevention and control work in livestock farming has been well implemented. The People's Committee of the commune has strengthened monitoring and detection of dangerous animal diseases to promptly warn and thoroughly handle newly emerging epidemics; Information and propaganda on the nature, risks of occurrence and measures to prevent and control animal diseases. Currently, there are no dangerous infectious diseases occurring in the commune...

Implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, the People's Committee of Ia Chim commune has directed departments and units under the People's Committee of the commune to regularly update and synchronize national database data, specialized databases on the national general database to reduce administrative procedures, optimize processes, and resolve administrative procedures according to the growth rate of data to ensure that people only declare information once when resolving administrative procedures to serve people and businesses.

The Commune People's Committee has assigned personnel to work in charge of digital transformation, information security, and network security at the unit to effectively implement the goals, tasks, and solutions for developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, and implementing Project 06 and administrative reform in the commune. The Commune Community Digital Technology Team and 24 Village and Residential Group Digital Technology Teams have been established; and a Technology and Professional Response Team has been established to support the resolution of administrative procedures.

At the working session, the working delegation listened to representatives of functional departments and the Public Administration Center of the commune propose and recommend difficulties and limitations in the work of building digital government in ensuring infrastructure and operating equipment of key information systems at the People's Committee, the Public Administration Service Center at the commune level to ensure infrastructure and resources to serve local governments at 2 levels; training and fostering professional skills in information technology, information security, network security, digital transformation for the team working on digital transformation, information security, network security at the commune level; a number of scientific and technological tasks in the commune; application of artificial intelligence in agriculture, forestry, rural construction...

During the working session, representatives of specialized departments and units under the Department; South Central Coastal Agricultural Science and Technology Institute; representatives of Quy Nhon University, Pham Van Dong University and a number of agricultural experts discussed, guided and proposed a number of contents for the People's Committee of Ia Chim commune to overcome current difficulties, and at the same time, provide specific directions on the fields of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the coming time.
