After welcoming the delegation, representatives of the Command of Coast Guard Region 1 and Squadron 11 welcomed and sincerely thanked Nghe An province as well as other provinces for arranging and sending a working delegation to coordinate the survey and carry out inspection tasks with Coast Guard Region 1.
Based on some basic information about the unit's situation, the representative of the Command emphasized the importance of the trip to provide more information for officers and people in coastal provinces to have a panoramic view of the sea and islands in the area managed by the Command. This is the second survey trip organized by the Command in coordination with the provinces in 2025. Through the trip, the relationship between the military and the people, specifically the Coast Guard force of the Region with officers and people in the northern coastal provinces, is further strengthened.

Next, the Nghe An delegation and several other provinces boarded the ship to conduct an experimental survey of sea routes in the Gulf of Tonkin.
As planned, on the morning of June 13, the survey and working delegation will approach and go to Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa) to offer incense and flowers at the Monument of Heroic Martyrs; visit and encourage officers and soldiers on the island and listen to the island commander report on the security situation and socio-economic development on the island.
However, due to bad weather conditions and Hon Me Island being affected by storm No. 1, the delegation adjusted their plan to carry out propaganda about the sea, islands and the current situation of compliance with regulations on combating illegal fishing at sea by fishermen in the provinces.

Hon Me Island is an archipelago located in the Gulf of Tonkin in the waters of Thanh Hoa province. The island belongs to Hai Binh ward, Nghi Son town, 70 nautical miles (120 km) from Hai Phong and 5.5 nautical miles (11 km) from Thanh Hoa mainland.
The island consists of 17 large and small islands; the total area is 450 hectares, of which Hon Me Island alone, also known as Hon Me Lon, has an area of 420 hectares.

After visiting Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa), the delegation continued their journey to Bach Long Vy Island (Hai Phong) for 2 days. Here, the delegation will continue to conduct sea surveys, inspections, propaganda and gift giving to ships as planned.

According to the coordination program, the delegation will survey and grasp the situation of the sea and islands in the Gulf of Tonkin of Nghe An and some northern provinces from June 12-16. In addition to inspection and propaganda activities at sea, the delegation will also visit, encourage and have activities at Hon Me Island (Thanh Hoa), Bach Long Vy Island (Hai Phong) and Co To Island (Quang Ninh).
