At the reception, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong shared an overview of the socio -economic development achievements of the capital Hanoi in 2024, notably the budget revenue for the first time exceeding the 500,000 billion VND mark.
According to the Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, in the coming time, Hanoi will continue to invest in many key projects, including the Ring Road 4 project connecting localities, including Bac Ninh and Hung Yen, promising to significantly expand the scope of urban and economic development in the region.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Dong commented that the capital Hanoi as well as the capital Phnom Penh, with rapid urban development and strong population growth, will face great pressure on infrastructure, especially traffic congestion, environmental pollution, as well as problems with waste treatment, water treatment, etc. The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that the two sides could increase the exchange of experiences and share solutions to solve challenges arising in the development process of the two capitals.
Noting that Hanoi has been focusing on solving environmental issues for many years, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong shared with the Cambodian side experiences in the city's urban waste and wastewater treatment process.
Thanking the leaders of Hanoi People's Committee for sharing, First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate Ouch Borith expressed his joy to return to visit Hanoi after 32 years, highly appreciating the development achievements of Hanoi.
Expressing his gratitude to Hanoi City for organizing a useful visit to the Soc Son Waste-to-Energy Plant earlier that day, the First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate assessed that the construction of this plant is the right step for the city government in improving the environment and dealing with problems arising from rapid urbanization.
The First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate also hopes that Hanoi will share more experiences and techniques in waste collection, waste treatment, waste-to-energy technology, water treatment, etc.
The First Vice President of the Cambodian Senate hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will increase visits and delegation exchanges, and at the same time, wishes that Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general will achieve the set development goals, especially becoming a high-income country by 2045.
