Businesses benefit from adjusting electricity load

Việt NamViệt Nam03/09/2024

In order to ensure safe and continuous power supply to serve the socio -economic development needs of the province, Vinh Phuc Electricity Company has recently made efforts to call on large enterprises and customers to participate in the electricity load adjustment program. This not only helps enterprises reduce investment costs but also contributes to reducing pressure on the power system, especially during the hot season.

The Load Regulation (DR) program is a program implemented to encourage business customers to limit their electricity usage during peak hours and switch to off-peak hours. This will help reduce peak power during peak hours of the power system, reduce grid overload or improve the economic efficiency of the power system.

The load adjustment program applies to customers with electricity consumption of 1 million kWh/year or more. According to calculations by the electricity industry, by participating in the load adjustment program, each business can reduce about 1% of electricity costs.

To date, 137 enterprises in the province have agreed to sign an agreement to participate in the load adjustment program with an expected displacement capacity of 37.8 MW. Enterprises participating in the load adjustment will contribute to reducing electricity costs due to reduced demand for electricity during peak hours, improving competitiveness by reducing electricity costs, reducing production costs of products and services, and improving production and business efficiency.
