Saying that Washington has begun to understand the importance of the Moscow market, Mr. Dmitriev said: "Finding common economic directions and positive solutions to problems is extremely important. The US and many other countries are beginning to realize that the Russian market is very attractive and need to be present there."

After Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022, the US and its allies imposed unprecedented sanctions on Moscow.

These measures have led to significant problems for Western companies operating in Russia, including in payments and supply chains.

As a result, a series of businesses have decided to leave the country, including automobile giants such as Volkswagen and Renault; multinational oil and gas companies Shell and British Petroleum; fast food chain McDonald's and Swedish furniture giant IKEA.

According to Yale University (USA), more than 1,000 Western companies withdrew capital from Moscow after the special military campaign.
