Tien Phong Newspaper Football Team Participates in the 5G Open Football Tournament to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day

The tournament was organized by 5G Multimedia Technology and Communications Joint Stock Company with the motto "Connecting big hands - Connecting success", with the participation of press and media units in Hanoi, aiming to connect, exchange and share experiences in communication activities in the current digital age.

Besides the host team, 5G Company, the tournament has the participation of teams with quality players from Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper, Sports & Culture Newspaper Alliance and Digital Content and Media Center (VNAmedia) under Vietnam News Agency, Tien Phong Newspaper, Dong Anh Media Company, CMS-36Biz Company.

The teams are divided into two groups, competing in a 7-a-side mini-football format. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to the semi-finals. The two winning teams in the semi-finals will advance to the cup match with attractive prizes. The two losing teams in the semi-finals will share the third prize.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoan, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 5G Open Football Tournament, said: “We hope that the 5G Open Football Tournament will create a useful playground, bringing the spirit of solidarity, both training and learning from each other, strengthening the connection between 5G brothers and sisters and press units. To encourage the teams participating in the tournament to compete with great efforts, we have large rewards. In addition to the cup, gold medal, and souvenir flag, the winning team will also receive 10 million VND in prize money. The runner-up team will receive 5 million VND in prize money and the two third-place teams will also receive 3 million VND in prize money each.”

The tournament also has individual awards such as: Top scorer with a prize of 1.5 million VND, excellent goalkeeper with a prize of 1.5 million VND. In addition, to encourage fair play and noble sportsmanship, the Organizing Committee will award the Fair-play Team with a prize of 2 million VND.

The organizers hope that the tournament will not only be a place for teams in the press and media industry to compete, but also a playground to demonstrate team spirit, solidarity, fair-play and, above all, bring back beautiful memories on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, contributing positively to consolidating and strengthening relationships between participating units in work as well as in life.

According to the draw results, Tien Phong newspaper team is in group A with the following teams: 5G Company, Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper. Group B includes the teams of Sports and Culture Newspaper - VNAmedia, Dong Anh Media and CSM-36Biz Company.

The 5G Open Football Tournament will open at 8am on Sunday, May 25, and teams will compete on weekend mornings at Den Lu 3 football field, Tan Mai Street, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi .

In the first match, after the opening ceremony of the tournament, at 8:30 a.m. on May 25, the Tien Phong newspaper team will meet the home team 5G Company in group A. In group B is the match between the Sports and Culture Newspaper Alliance - VNAmedia and Dong Anh Media.

The final match of the tournament will take place on the morning of June 15.
