In order to promptly remove and speed up customs clearance of import and export goods through the province's border gates, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone has proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to deploy foreign affairs activities; make adjustments, change meeting formats, apply information technology to coordinate, search for and agree on solutions to facilitate customs clearance. At the same time, the unit assigned the Border Gate Management Center to directly receive relevant information from relevant Chinese agencies to promptly grasp the situation, report, and advise on effective implementation of foreign affairs work.
Mr. Dinh Trung Kien, Deputy Director of the Border Gate Management Center, said: As a focal point for receiving information, the center has regularly discussed arising issues related to the regulation and flow of vehicles, limiting congestion at the border gate area. At the same time, the center also directly received working letters from the Pingxiang Trade Department, Guangxi, China, discussing issues related to import and export, policy mechanisms, etc. that need to be agreed upon between the two sides. From 2024 to present, the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone has received and sent 135 working letters to the corresponding agencies and units of China.
Along with the work of receiving and sending business letters, the department is also active and flexible in foreign affairs to improve the efficiency of customs clearance of goods through the province's border gates. Accordingly, the unit has chaired 29 direct meetings; organized 13 delegations to go out and welcome 20 delegations to exchange and negotiate contents related to research, agree on measures to remove difficulties and obstacles, create favorable conditions to promote entry and exit activities, import and export of goods; coordinate the construction of smart border gates; promote the opening and upgrading of border gates; restore operations at the auxiliary border gates of the two sides...
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Toan, Head of the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone, said: Based on the foreign affairs guidelines of the Party, the State and the Provincial People's Committee, in implementing foreign affairs activities, the board is always proactive, flexible and persistent in exchanging and making suggestions to relevant agencies of the neighboring country on the contents to reach a consensus. Thereby, it has contributed to increasing understanding, strengthening trust, solidarity, friendship, and coordinating the implementation of effective solutions to promote customs clearance of goods, resolving congestion, especially agricultural products exported from Vietnam to the Chinese market.
Thanks to the proactive and flexible foreign affairs of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone Management Board, customs clearance of import and export goods through the province has been smooth, and customs clearance efficiency has increased. Specifically, in the first 10 months of 2025, the total number of vehicles carrying import and export goods reached 494,927, an increase of 43% over the same period in 2024; import and export turnover reached over 72 billion USD, an increase of 46.2% over 2024.
