On the morning of November 17, the Lam Dong Provincial Traffic Police discovered a crack on the road surface of Prenn Pass stretching for tens of meters. Part of the road surface had collapsed towards the negative slope, posing a safety risk to vehicles.
Immediately after that, the authorities set up checkpoints, placed no-entry signs and diverted all vehicles from both directions, requiring them to move towards Mimosa Pass to enter the center of Da Lat.

According to records, the Da Lat area had been experiencing continuous heavy rain for more than a day before the incident was discovered. High humidity caused the ground to weaken, creating the risk of landslides on many mountain passes.
In addition to the landslide on Prenn Pass, Lam Dong Province Traffic Police said that two other passes, including Khanh Le Pass and Song Pha Pass (from Lam Dong to Khanh Hoa ), are also closed to traffic due to the high risk of landslides.
The leaders of Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat said that the locality coordinated with the authorities to block off the landslide area to ensure safety and survey the extent of the damage. The landslide was located on a negative slope, stretching over 10 meters, causing a partial break in the road surface.

Prenn Pass is about 10 km long, part of Highway 20 and is a vital route connecting Da Lat with Ho Chi Minh City. The landslide forced the closure of the Prenn Pass, greatly affecting traffic into the city, especially in the context of increased tourist numbers on weekends.
Authorities are urgently assessing the extent of the damage to find a solution to open the road as soon as possible, ensuring safety and maintaining traffic connections for Da Lat.
