Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai directed the handling of landslides at Prenn Pass, ensuring safe and smooth traffic.

This morning, November 17, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai and leaders of the Department of Construction were present at the scene to urgently direct the handling and overcoming of landslide incidents, ensuring traffic safety on Prenn Pass.

The landslide section of the pass has a fairly high negative slope.

At the scene, after carefully inspecting the landslide area and listening to the report, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai requested the Department of Construction and the Da Lat Area Construction Investment Project Management Board to urgently review, inspect and clear the entire drainage system along and across the pass.

This is to prevent rainwater and mud from overflowing onto the road surface; limit damage to the roadbed; and prevent the risk of further landslides.

According to reporters at the scene, the landslide was about 100 meters long, causing half of the road from Da Lat to Ho Chi Minh City to slide down the cliff.

The negative slope section has a high elevation and underground water flows underneath, especially near Datanla waterfall - causing the risk of roadbed instability.

The landslide dragged a large section of the embankment that separates the asphalt road from the ravine next to the road down into the deep abyss next to it.

The landslide area at section Km224+600 - Km224+700 is about 100m long.

Authorities have put up warning signs, cordoned off dangerous areas and arranged 24/7 guards to ensure safety.

At the scene, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Hai also requested the Department of Construction to review all mountain passes in the area, put up warning signs and delineate high-risk locations.

In particular, it is necessary to urgently clear longitudinal and transverse drains to ensure good drainage and avoid water overflowing onto the road, causing danger to vehicles.

These are urgent measures to stabilize the situation and prepare for repair work, ensuring safety for the main road leading to the provincial administrative center.

Along with that, the authorities have surveyed and organized traffic diversion to avoid the landslide area.

Specifically, vehicles going from the beginning of Prenn Pass down to the middle of the pass will be directed onto Truc Lam Yen Tu Street, then continue along Sacom Pass to get onto the highway.

Vehicles going from the beginning of Prenn Pass down to the middle of the pass will be directed onto Truc Lam Yen Tu Street, then continue along Sacom Pass to get down to the highway.

Vehicles going to Da Lat from the highway can choose Sacom pass or Mimosa pass to get to the center.

Traffic diversion is to ensure traffic safety and minimize congestion during landslide incident handling.
