Morgan Gibbs-White (left) was surprised by MU's return. |
After a shaky start, the "Red Devils" won three consecutive Premier League matches, climbing to 6th place with 16 points, just one place behind the Champions League group. For Gibbs-White, that winning streak is clear evidence of the return of a real MU.
"It's been incredible to see how they've bounced back," Gibbs-White told Stan Sport . "They've obviously had a tough time, but they've stuck with the manager. Now you're starting to see the Manchester United image again - the fighting spirit, the determination and the desire to defend that shirt."
The 25-year-old also emphasized: "That is what the Premier League has lacked in recent seasons. A MU playing true to their identity - brave, passionate, always moving forward."
Three consecutive victories, including a 4-2 win over Brighton, are a confirmation of Amorim’s right direction. MU is no longer the mentally fragile team it once was, but a team that knows how to react and fight to the end.
This weekend's match against Nottingham Forest is the next test of the "Red Devils"'s revival journey. In theory, MU are rated much higher, but Forest are now different with coach Sean Dyche - famous for his solid defensive counter-attacking style.
Notably, Forest have beaten MU in their last three Premier League encounters. But looking back at how MU ended Brighton’s winning streak at Old Trafford, there is reason to believe that Amorim’s team have the courage to break the curse once again.
