Specially wanted subject for extortion surrendered

This morning, May 7, information from the Criminal Police Department of Quang Tri Province Police said that after being informed and persuaded by the authorities and his family, the wanted subject Ngo Duc Dung (born in 1988), residing in Quarter 2, Ward 3, Quang Tri Town, turned himself in. At the same time, the unit arrested Le Thanh Thao (born in 1992), residing in Ai Tu Town, Trieu Phong District, for the crime of "Extortion of property".

According to the investigation, Ngo Duc Dung is the leader of the gang involved in the case of "Extortion of property" that occurred in Vinh An village, Cam Hieu commune, Cam Lo district on April 17, 2025.

Previously, Tran Van Day Lon (born in 1989), residing in Cho Moi district (An Giang province) owed 2.3 billion VND to Lam Tien Thai (born in 1986), residing in Ward 8, District 4 ( Ho Chi Minh City).

When he learned that Thai was transporting 76,115 ^m3 of wood worth more than VND 1.12 billion to sell, Lon had the intention of appropriating it. Therefore, on April 17, 2025, in Vinh An village, Cam Hieu commune (Cam Lo district), Lon hired a number of other people to threaten, intimidate, and coerce Thai to appropriate the above amount of wood to deduct from the debt.

After expanding the investigation, the authorities determined that Ngo Duc Dung and Le Thanh Thao were involved in the above-mentioned "Extortion of property" case, so they issued a decision to prosecute the accused, a special wanted decision for Ngo Duc Dung, and a decision to prosecute the accused Le Thanh Thao for the crime of "Extortion of property".
