The "blue team" of the Vietnamese women's futsal team is a men's futsal team. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and his team had a rewarding and dramatic match.

The second half witnessed a tense score chase. After letting the opponent take the lead 2-1, Thu Xuan promptly scored an equalizer. In the 29th minute, the Vietnamese female futsal players took the lead for the first time, 3-2, but immediately after that, the opponent equalized and led again, 3-4.

The women's futsal team deployed a power-play tactic and Van Anh was the one who scored the winning goal to tie the score at 4-4 with 30 seconds left. This was also the final result of the practice match. This was also the only domestic friendly match before the end of the first preparation phase.

Training in Japan

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will enter phase 2, going to Japan for training on April 20. It is expected that the team will have 2 more friendly matches, one match with a club futsal team and one friendly match with the Japanese women's futsal team on April 25.

After completing the training in Japan, the Vietnamese women's futsal team will go to China on May 1, have another friendly match with the host (expected on May 3), before officially participating in the 2025 Asian women's futsal finals.

Evaluating the domestic training session, coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said that today's practice match (April 18) is the first match of the training session to prepare for the Asian playground.

"This is an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate what the team has practiced and how the game is playing, thereby gaining experience and assembling the team for the final round.

During the quality training trip in Japan, we have a friendly match with the Japanese women's futsal team, one of the top teams in Asia, or in other words, one of the strongest opponents in the region. This is an opportunity for the players to prepare mentally, to catch up when the final round has many strong teams to have better preparation", said coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang.

The whole team left for training in Japan on April 20.

The draw for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship has brought good news to the Vietnamese women's futsal team. The draw has placed Thanh Hang and her teammates in Group B with Iran, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

This is an easy group, because except for the defending champion Iran (ranked 9th in the world ) with superior level, the Philippines and Hong Kong teams are not comparable to the Vietnamese women's futsal team in terms of level.

Commenting on the opponents in the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said that Vietnam's group includes Iran, the team that is considered to have the highest position in the quarterfinals. The coaching staff also has plans and playing styles to counter and will play their best against Iran.

"The two teams Hong Kong and the Philippines are on the same level. We will have a chance to win. The team sets the goal of first passing the group stage before calculating the plan and playing style to go as far as possible and win a place in the upcoming world cup," concluded the coach of the Vietnamese women's futsal team.

At the Asian women's futsal finals, the top six teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.

Tickets to the Women's Futsal World Cup will be awarded to the champions, runners-up and third-placed teams of Asia. In case the Philippines (World Cup hosts) reach the semi-finals, Asia will be awarded four spots.

Therefore, the Vietnamese women's futsal team needs to at least reach the semi-finals to keep their hopes of attending the World Cup alive.

If she attends the World Cup, midfielder Tran Thi Thuy Trang will stand before an unprecedented milestone: participating in world football at both 11-a-side and futsal levels.
