Hai Hoa Border Guard Station combines the emulation movement "Determination to Win" with building a strong locality

Officers and soldiers of Hai Hoa Border Guard Station coordinated with Nghi Son Town Youth Union to collect garbage and clean the beach.

Major Hoang Ngoc Trung, Political Commissar of Hai Hoa Border Guard Station, said: The unit is responsible for managing and protecting 23.5km of coastline with two estuaries (Lach Ghep and Lach Bang) and 9 wards of Nghi Son town - an area with an important strategic position in terms of politics, economy, national defense and security.

Deeply aware of the importance of emulation and reward work, the Party Committee and the Command Board of the unit have actively disseminated and concretized the directives and resolutions of the superiors into annual leadership resolutions. The unit effectively implemented the emulation movement "Determined to Win" associated with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the campaign "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of being Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period. The construction plans closely followed the content and targets with the theme "Solidarity, exemplary, disciplined, proactive, creative, determined to win".

The highlight of the unit's emulation activities is the close coordination with local Party committees and authorities to promote legal dissemination to the people. The focus is on documents such as: Vietnam Border Guard Law, Fisheries Law, Vietnam Sea Law, decrees on management of activities in maritime border areas and especially regulations on preventing illegal fishing (IUU).

From the beginning of 2024 to April 2025, Hai Hoa Border Guard coordinated to organize 171 propaganda sessions with more than 5,000 participants; broadcast 252 hours on the loudspeaker systems of the wards; distributed 9,000 leaflets on combating IUU fishing; presented 1,000 national flags and photos of Uncle Ho to fishermen.

The unit also mobilized households to move spontaneous aquaculture cages out of the anchorage area to avoid storms, ensuring waterway traffic safety. At the same time, it organized control at two estuaries with 3,643 vehicles, 12,523 people and participated in 3 search and rescue missions at sea, rescuing 3 victims.

Along with propaganda work, the unit effectively implemented Directive No. 01/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister on the movement "All people participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security in the new situation". The focus is on strengthening the "Self-management of security and order", "Based mediation", "Safe boats" and "Safe wharves and yards" groups.

From the outstanding achievements, the unit has advised the local Party Committee and authorities to propose rewards: 1 collective was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, 1 individual received a Certificate of Merit from the Border Guard Command, 16 individuals were awarded the "For the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders" Medal, 9 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Border Guard Command, 1 collective and 9 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the People's Committee of Nghi Son town...

Hai Hoa Border Guard also coordinated with Nghi Son Town Youth Union and related forces to organize campaigns: "Let's clean the sea", "Summer Youth Volunteers", "Green Sunday", "Volunteer Saturday", collecting and processing more than 25 tons of waste, cleaning 8km of coastline. At the same time, the unit participated in ensuring security and order to serve the opening of Nghi Son Sea Tourism Festival in 2024 and 2025.

The unit also pays attention to the work of caring for the lives of officers and soldiers. The unit has organized and effectively implemented the emulation movement "The Army Logistics Sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings" with the policy of "One concentration, three breakthroughs". Accordingly, the unit has renovated a 400m2 vegetable garden, a 1,500m2 fish pond; a 60m2 livestock barn with 20 pigs, 150 poultry, 950kg of squash, cabbage and various vegetables..., thereby contributing to improving the lives of soldiers and the welfare of officers and soldiers.

With many outstanding results in performing its tasks, in 2024, Hai Hoa Border Guard was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of National Defense and Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; 1 comrade received a Certificate of Merit from the Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union. This is the result of the efforts and solidarity of officers and soldiers who are always determined to excellently complete assigned tasks, contributing to building a strong unit, firmly managing and protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's maritime border.
