Accompanying Lai Chau border women

The program "Accompanying women in the border areas" for the period 2021-2025 is organized by the Phu Tho Women's Union in coordination with the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command to support women in the border areas of Lai Chau.

The Program's goal by 2025 is that 100% of communes in the program will receive support to have a clear change in all aspects; Women's Union branches and groups will operate effectively, and security and order in the area will be ensured.

After 5 years of implementation, the program has coordinated to organize 980 sessions to disseminate Party policies, State laws, knowledge on health care and child rearing; organize family life for more than 90,000 cadres, members, women, cadres, soldiers and people in border communes of Lai Chau province; help 7,850 poor women's households in border communes achieve the criteria of "5 no, 5 yes" and "3 clean" families. Women's Unions at all levels of Phu Tho province supported the repair and construction of 45 "Shelters of Love" and 31 livelihood models, with a total support budget of more than 1.5 billion VND.

Representatives of Phu Tho Women's Union gave gifts to disadvantaged member families in the Lai Chau border area.

Through the program "Helping children go to school - Adopted children of the Border Guard Station" of Lai Chau Border Guard, the Head of the Command, departments, Office of the Command, and the Finance Department sponsored 58 students with especially difficult circumstances who excelled in their studies, with a sponsorship level of 500,000 VND/child/month; 9 children were adopted by Thu Lum, Ka Lang, and Pa U Border Guard Stations at the unit ; 2 orphans in the area of ​​Pa Tan Border Guard Station were sponsored by the Women's Union of Phu Tho Provincial Police with 500,000 VND/month/child until they were 18 years old.

22/22 communes in the program have art and sports models and many 5 beauties models: "Beautiful people, beautiful houses, beautiful barracks, beautiful villages, beautiful military-civilian relations". Phu Tho Women's Union donated 2 sets of computers to the Women's Unions of Pa Tan and Ta Ba communes; coordinated with Border Guard Stations to instruct commune Women's Union cadres to use computers for work...

Lai Chau provincial leaders awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the coordination program.

The program's support has raised awareness among cadres, members, and women in participating in building and protecting sovereignty and border security; supporting, assisting, and creating opportunities for women in border communes to have livelihoods, solve employment problems, eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, create motivation, and will to rise up; practically contributing to building a strong grassroots political system, consolidating the people's hearts and minds.

At the closing ceremony, Phu Tho Women's Union together with accompanying agencies, units, enterprises and organizations sent many practical and meaningful gifts to the Border Guard Command, Border Guard Stations and members, women and children in difficult circumstances in Lai Chau province.
