The goal set for 2025 is for the entire province to have 10 remaining communes striving to achieve the status of advanced NTM communes. To date, 9 communes have submitted documents requesting recognition as advanced NTM communes. The People's Committees of the districts: Dinh Quan, Xuan Loc, Long Thanh, Trang Bom, Nhon Trach, Tan Phu, Vinh Cuu have submitted documents requesting recognition of 21 communes meeting the model NTM standards. The 3 districts of Cam My, Vinh Cuu, Tan Phu are making efforts to complete the remaining indicators and criteria; complete documents proving that they have achieved the status of advanced NTM districts in 2025.
However, communes and districts still have some problems to achieve advanced NTM standards such as: there are still some indicators and criteria that are limited such as environment, centralized clean water, healthcare ; some departments and branches have not yet given their opinions on evaluating advanced NTM communes and districts and model NTM communes. Some of the reasons include that some criteria and indicators are still stuck or the locality has not yet completed the supporting documents...
Regarding the model new rural district, Xuan Loc district has submitted a dossier requesting examination and recognition as meeting the standards of a model new rural district in 2025. However, the Prime Minister has not yet issued regulations on model new rural districts for the period 2024-2025, so there is no basis to conduct examination of the recognition dossier.

Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang affirmed that Dong Nai is still determined to complete the goal of advanced and model NTM communes as well as 3 districts achieving advanced NTM according to the plan set out in 2025. However, in the context of abolishing the district-level government system as well as many changes in the reorganization of commune-level administrative units, localities must submit all documents for recognition of advanced NTM communes, model NTM communes, and advanced NTM districts.
To keep up with the set schedule, Vinh Cuu and Cam My districts are required to complete and submit documents proving the advanced NTM district status this week. Tan Phu district must complete documents proving the advanced NTM district status before April 15. Districts and departments and branches must coordinate closely in resolving and agreeing on the remaining criteria and targets. Localities, departments and branches must speed up and work regardless of weekends, especially when the district submits documents proving the status, departments and branches must immediately conduct assessments to keep up with the set schedule.
The advanced and model NTM communes need to continue to improve and complete the criteria and indicators for evaluation by departments and branches. The Provincial Council for Appraisal of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction will evaluate, recognize and organize a recognition ceremony in April. It is expected that from mid to late April 2025, Dong Nai will submit the dossiers of 3 advanced NTM districts to the central level for evaluation and recognition.
